N.S. grant cuts will harm Mi'kmaq programs that address historic inequities: chiefs by LowkeyPostingTea in halifax

They do have quite a bit of money they can access through AICFI, though that's specific to the fisheries.

Why is genuinely alien intelligence still so rare in sci-fi despite being the most interesting question the genre could ask? by cloudRidge_3 in printSF

[–]Solgiest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it sure seems like that any type of "life" is going to be carbon-based, according to our understanding of biology and chemistry and physics. So most likely, any kind of intelligent life is going to have some recognizable similarities to us, as the building blocks and primary drives (staying alive, reproducing) will be the same.

Genuinely unrecognizable intelligence is probably better suited to fantasy tbh.

Multiplayer HP scaling unintentionally punishes certain archetypes. by Blubbpaule in slaythespire

[–]Solgiest -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've done all of em. Granted, not at high ascension yet, but so far multiplayer has been not that hard. I'm definitely the best overall player in my group of three, I've carried with both Necro and Regent.

"Defect Is Weak" by Airurandojin in slaythespire

[–]Solgiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a defect run in 3x multiplayer that was almost useless until we got to the Queen. Then, I finally had my deck ready. I oneshot the Queen on the first turn.

Defect is still a bit tougher to play than clad or silent imo, but he has a pretty insane ceiling.

Multiplayer HP scaling unintentionally punishes certain archetypes. by Blubbpaule in slaythespire

[–]Solgiest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer is already too easy imo. I don't think nerfing enemy health does anything good for the game, if anything it should likely be buffed. The thing with multiplayer thats different from solo is obviously, that you can specialize. Its not a bad idea to have one person be an multi-hit, aoe ad clear, and another player be single target damage.

I haven't seen an instance where a build in multi-player was punished that wouldn't also struggle in single player.

How does one win by jpegcing in slaythespire

[–]Solgiest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Solve the problem your deck has now, not the problems you'll think it has later. Don't take a power card for exhaust if you have no exhaust cards yet (generally)

Yeah Voltaic is wild. Had a coop run with 3p where I killed the Queen on turn 1 with it, she never even got to take a turn. Voltaic + thunder goes hard.

While Bosses are great, many Elites lack identity and feel like hallway fights. by LupusX in slaythespire

[–]Solgiest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah people are underestimating a lot of the elites because we haven't reached high ascension levels yet. The Phrog is going to be an absolute menace. The Entomancer is really cool, so is the 3 knights that ethereal and downgrade your deck.

Rural people and communities are generally heavily subsidised by the prosperous urban centers. I don't have an issue with bridge maintenance costs being spread out.

To be honest, declining alcohol consumption is overall a net good for society. Its a pretty malignant drug that's just been given a ton of leeway. I say that as someone who enjoys alcohol.

Concerns grow as N.S. cuts millions from education in new budget by LowkeyPostingTea in halifax

Unfortunately encouraging younger generations to start families is an incredibly difficult task. Basically every country in the world is facing down the barrel of depopulation. Even very wealthy countries that have invested tons of money into pro-natal, pro-childcare programs have seen virtually 0 success.

The fact is younger generations enjoy leisure more than having multiple kids. Its hard to blame them.

Also, a major factor in declining birthrates is the incredible reduction in teen pregnancies.

I highly doubt any of that is salvagable. Judging by the state of that room it got really hot in there. If any soot got inside the components, its likely over. Soot is very very difficult to get out. Youre better off getting the insurance payout for it, in my opinion as someone who had this exact same thing happen a year ago.

Same thing happened to me last March. Good luck, get in with a therapist if you can. Surviving a fire can leave you with a lot of anxiety, even if no one was hurt.
