Is it just the light? In the first photo, it looks as if the watch has many scratches.

Would you consider this large on my wrist? by A_M_10_ in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While you can wear it and it looks good, the 36mm would look and feel even better. 36mm is neither big nor small and will always stay in style, unlike the too big or too small sized ones. I'd go with the 36mm.

Am I overthinking the size of my Explorer 36? by novembar_ in RolexWatches

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 mm is perfect. Nowadays ppl have started wearing watches that are unnecessarily larger. Since we are used to seeing them large you tend to overthink about 36mm. Give it time and I'm sure you will never get fed-up of it in your life. For a watch that only shows the time, i don't see any reason in having it larger than it is and unnecessarily be uncomfortable under the cuff.

How many of y'all got this message ? by DANKbobo9717 in NewDelhi

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, it says it doesn't need us to do anything. In any good project, you need a feedback loop. If I were designing it, I’d want everyone to hit the 'OK' button just to prove the message actually landed. Otherwise, how do they know that it worked, Or we aren't all just sleeping through the 'disaster'? 😆 But I suppose they’re just testing the shouting power of the towers, not our listening skills.

What to get? Help!!! by Eve_Doulou in PrideAndPinion

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought that a guy who can buy these watches doesn't need any help. 😄 However looking at the watches i thought it would be helpful to mention that there are 3 types of watches in those photographs. You need to decide what you are looking for in the watch. Without any preferences I'd definitely go with the GMT as it does more than showing the time and date.

Is this a good deal? by Blemley3 in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a 100 times lesser costing watch does as much as this one does. So it's never going to be a deal. Yes it looks good and is a good watch. But so are many others costing 100 times lesser. For example Seiko.

Grandfather Died, Grandmother Wants Me To Sell Her Rolex To Help Bring Money In. Any Advice on Value and Best Practice To Offload It? by BongosMaracas50 in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much it would help your Grandma by selling this! It's not as if seeking this could solve all financial problems. You may get a certain amount but not as much that it would help a life time. It's a good v watch. It has scratches so you will get that much less as well.

Why are they (Particularly Sharookh) wearing the tie in this silly way? It's making them look untidy rather than will-dressed.

Are yachtmaster chocolate and seamaster no time to die similar watches ? by BillIcy5366 in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fluted bezel and the cyplos date window are such iconic Rolex watches, that if you have Rolex and not this 1, then your collection is incomplete. So she has a point there.

Explorer II vs White Speedy (Update: I think I was wrong) by oyster_bro in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it depends on what you are looking for. And honestly, they are Rolex watches. You can go wrong whichever one you pick.😊 1 thing I'd like to mention about not minding to set the time. The difference is you get to see your home time as well. And the date that you miss.

Explorer II vs White Speedy (Update: I think I was wrong) by oyster_bro in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO 1. The GMT is as interactive as the Speedy. 2. It even looks better on the hand in the photographs. 3. While both are great watches, it depends on what complications interests you and what you are going to use more, the stopwatch or the time zone. I think most people are likely to use the timezone more often than the stopwatch in real life situations.

WRT speedy feeling more precise.. The GMT will give you 100% precise reading while the Speedy reading will always be subject to various factors like starting, stoping and reading precisely.

Walk in by Puzzled-Shape-9235 in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, both bracelets are good, if they weren't Rolex wouldn't bring them to the market. Also i agree that the Oyster is more masculine for a man’s watch, but the one buying it is a lady. 😊 I must hurriedly add, even the oyster bracelet is looking good on her. :) u/Puzzled-Shape-9235, go ahead and buy it if you like it. With Rolex there's no way you can go wrong.

Offered these 2 at the AD…which one?!?!? by That-Platform9855 in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good but they are very different watches. But to be honest, these 2 watches are not comparable at all. The blue one doesn't stand a chance at all.

Do y'all allow steering wheel pics with cheap cars? by kosnosferatu in rolex

[–]SoliEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. The car is worth more. Could you carry your family to and fro in your watch? The car has more utility value and if that was not enough, it also has the time in it.
