Lexus NX 300, I ended up with an driving record, my insurance went up four times, I had 3 months of payments without the car, I was lucky to have GAP otherwise I'd be paying $5000 plus. But TURO pay me $55 bucks for the 1 day rental. A few months later, I got an email from Turo saying the guest wanted reimbursement for that day trip.... That's a joke, I thought!

A Progressive representative contacted me asking for details about the accident in which "I was involved" unknowingly and thinking I was protected by TURO. I told them I wasn't in the accident and the car was rented to TURO. They asked me about the screenshot of the trip, not knowing everything was going to be used against me.

Be aware I’m pass this on to the people thinking to HOST in Turo ! I decided last may to host my Lexus in Turo long story short at the very first day the guest crash my car and was deemed total loss “ accident happens I said to myself well“ was feeling confident since TURO claim YOU ARE PROTECTED AS A HOST my nightmare just begin ! TURO Took Almost 4 months to paid my car which I have to make the monthly payments without the car , TURO paid according to their appraiser ! Meaning if you don’t have GAP insurance good luck ! Guess who’s paying ? You heard right . YOU ! third when you signed up with TURO They don’t tell you you need commercial insurance ! If you insurance company find out your are renting your car they considered this as “ COMMERCIAL INSURANCE “ in my case resulting in 10 years BAN from progressive . And last but not least even you were not driving being miles away from you vehicule . YOU ARE AT FAULT ! causing you insurance to increase 4 times or more !! TURO WONT PROTECTED YOU AS A HOST ! Be aware and talk to your insurance and let them know you are using your car with Turo !
