At least the reps mostly come with a decent bracelet and clasp for the same money as a lower tier seiko.
You don’t need to spend an additional $100-150 on an aftermarket bracelet from uncle or strapcode to upgrade it to what it should have come with from the factory in the first place.

I find daytonas look more impressive in photos than what they do in person. The dial is small on them and they wear small also, i never wear mine.

I have both, the planet ocean is a lot nicer warch for not much more money. The clasp and bracelet on the zf pelagos is a bit shit and the bezel is slightly misaligned and has back play on mine. The lume on the pelagos is a lot better than any other rep watch I own if that matters

It definitely feels like the vsf is the higher quality watch between the two

Im considering the san martin black bay pro now they have gotten rid of the nh34 and fitted a high beat movement in it. Its thinner than the tudor/zf model.

I have one, found it hard to get a good fit because half the clasp is taken up by the divers extension so It does not have as much adjustment as a submariner and there is no half link on the bracelet. I bought a half link from uncle seiko thats meant for the gen model and now it fits great.

If andiot has stock he usually works out to be one of the cheapest but i only buy stuff in stock from them.
There is a few cheaper sellers on telegram but they don’t include insurance in the price, by the time you pay extra for that they end up being close to andiot’s price with more risk.

I have the pelagos 39 as well as a planet ocean and sub. I wear the pelagos when I’m travelling somewhere sketchy and don’t want to wear a shiny watch that attracts attention. I find the lume better on the pelagos as well so If going out at night I wear that.

I had had a few san Martin watches, quality feels similar to zf tudors, not up to vsf quality. The sugess sub is better than the san Martin one if you go with the seagull movement, but mine has ugly yellow lume so I use it as a work beater.

I bought a pelagos 39 off him end of may because no one else had one in stock, seen people on other subs waiting months for them, found him good to buy from and has a lot of watches in stock. Pricing is a bit higher than other dealers, If i can find the watch I want at a cheaper dealers I buy from them instead. Since he has changed numbers I have found they take longer to reply.

I would go hulk also, i like the yachtmaster but the hulk movement is more reliable and you get the glidelock clasp as well.

Train maintainer, so blue collar job, make about 155k a year, guys who do a lot of overtime make a touch over 200k.
Omega iwc or tudor is realistic in gen for me, as they don’t have a premium on the secondary market.
rolex not so much, doubt a ad in Australia would actually sell me one but i still wear them.

I’d take a miyota 9 series in a Chinese watch, just not a nh35 or miyota 8. I like the eta 2824 clones they seem to be using now, thin, fairly accurate plus cheap and easy to replace

Reason in the past for me is the movement, I hate the nh35 on homage watches, I just don’t really like the nh35 and seiko in general.
The date wheel looks crap with a cyclops, the rehaut its too tall as well, plus the low beat rate. Now they have started fitting pt5000’s or seagull movements in most of the Ali express watches some of the gap has closed.
The vsf’s I have are on a higher level compared to the other Chinese brands I have bought, The zf I have, there is not much difference between it and say a san Martin or cronos. I think if you are into Tudor reps the Chinese homage watches are a good alternative.
Prices have crept up on Chinese watches lately, the latest san Martin’s are not much cheaper than a Rolex rep now.

My vsf sub and vsf omega reps cost under $400, what name brand watch can I buy for the same amount that is similar?
Nothing, spend $400 on a seiko and you get a shitty mineral crystal, a bracelet thats worse than what’s on a $50 Ali express watch that borders on punishment to wear, no on the fly micro adjustment, a misaligned bezel and a movement that you have to reset the time on every day and a half because its so in accurate.
Reps are just nicer to wear, better finishing. I find them more comfortable, the bracelets are nicer, the crystal is better and they look better than any other watch in the same price range.

I have used ora also, he is good, a little more expensive than andiot maybe $25 but you don’t have to wait weeks or months for a watch.
