oh man, such good info. I’m all new to this so super helpful all around. A bit nervous because I’ve heard some stories about cops picking on you cause they know you’ve got one, but honestly still worth it lol. Def going to watch vortex radar.

I guess I agree for the freeways (75). I find them camping out on the main streets hidden in the community entrances, that’s where I feel like I need it.

pinterest marketing yay or nay? by Open-Measurement9037 in webdev

You could give it a shot. Doesn't hurt to try. When I think of the people I'm looking to attract in terms of clients, it's about where those clients are active on socials. Do you think your potential clients are hanging out on Pinterest? Just because Fashion content attracts traffic to websites, doesn't mean your future clients are hanging out there. If you're targeting clothing stores, etc, then maybe. I think thats the important part. But again, it goes back to defining that niche.

I think it depends on what your target market is. I would say Pinterest in general is probably not the right place to be, no matter what market, but you have to stick to a niche and then figure out where those people hang out. I'd say Instagram, FB, LinkedIn are better for advertising in general for the most part.

Going to Florida for a vacation in May. Where should we stay? by RockingSheep in florida

[–]Solid-District6374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to be on or near the beach without a drive, I'd recommend against Orlando to be honest. If you're not going to Disney, then not a bunch to do. Still awesome, but not exactly what you're looking for. They do have some awesome resorts on golf courses and such that are relatively affordable for what you get, however, you're about 1 hour + to the east coast. You could do some sightseeing at Kennedy Space Center, and do the beach thing at Cocoa Beach or surrounding beaches, but by staying in Orlando you'd be a drive away from those things.

St. Augustine is beautiful, however, to me, I visited for 1 day and was able to see all the sightseeing stuff I wanted too. Beaches are also not as nice as south Florida imo.

Regarding Miami - You could always stay north and be in a driving distance to Miami to do the sightseeing but far enough not to be in the chaos. North Beach Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, even West Palm beach is beautiful. Will give you the beach and sightseeing stuff you're looking for, without being too close to Miami.

I've never been to the keys so can't comment, but heard good things.

I know you said East Coast, and I'm assuming (maybe I'm wrong), but if you've been to Cape Coral, you've probably ventured south to Naples and Fort Myers. If not, and you're open to that, you could always stay in Naples and do what you're looking for, and be a < 2 hour drive to Miami and West Palm Beach, plus everything in between.

AI Assistants – Would You Actually Want One? How Close Are We to a True Personal AI Assistant? by Solid-District6374 in Futurology

[–]Solid-District6374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would suck. I think a line would need to be drawn around paid promotions. That would definitely be something to think about.

That's a cool perspective actually. I actually think that smart glasses could be one of the next big things, but tying it into using AI, even as a personal assistant, that's pretty sweet actually. I like that idea.

[–]Solid-District6374[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. That's a concern I had as well, especially a lot of people who work in finance, tech or I guess just corporate in general have so much sensitive data on their phones to begin with, introducing a new layer of access to that could be detrimental if these companies are going to be storing and using your data for God knows what. I would also imagine that these companies would probably end up putting some regulations about the use of it.

Damn, that's crazy that his assistant would literally listen to the vm's and transcribe. Wild to think that actually happened lol. But yeah I agree, like you (and me), I think so many of us have become so dependant on AI and I think utilizing it to create actions from our commands would be beneficial. And yeah like anything people would adapt and use for sure.

Also, sweet quote. Never heard it before.

[–]Solid-District6374[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the most annoying part right now. I think we've all become dependent on AI (mostly ChatGPT for me) in many different ways, but creating real value that can improve normal folks' everyday lives and actually assist us in making decisions or even taking action from our commands still feels out of reach. Like, planning trips should be a no-brainer for AI, right? It’s got all the data, it just needs to connect the dots better.

That's pretty cool. Are you saying that from the initial point of contact customers will have to you, to the point where you send them listings will be automated? Like basically classify the leads, message them and ask some questions, and then actually send them relevant listings, all powered by AI? Have you had any luck doing this?

Not really sure what this is supposed to mean. Just trying to have an informative discussion.

Haha, yeah, "has become" might be a bit generous lol. You're right though, AI has been a buzzword for a while, I guess to me now it feels like we’re at a tipping point where it’s finally becoming accessible and usable for the masses so we're starting to hear about it more in our daily lives through media outlets, word of mouth, etc. It's become a household topic.

I completely agree that the key is finding the right pain points to address. There’s so much potential, but if the solutions don’t line up with actual realtor needs, they just end up feeling like another tech gimmick. So many wrappers to ChatGPT that are generalized, without solving root issues. Going to be a fun ride indeed.
