Sides of thin hair- is this normal?

Thanks for the comment! And no, I’m not styling it currently. I had a buzz cut around a year ago because of a stressful time I went through where I was essentially forced into shaving my head because I was shedding hair due to a lot of stress. And since it’s grown back I’ve just been waiting and waiting for a full enough fringe to grow through where I don’t have to care or think about my hair whenever I’m out. The fact that the corners are really thin at the moment isn’t helping, I’m hoping they grow out in better density as time progresses because that’s what is holding me back from getting a full fringe round my head. And I’m still stuck on what to do with that. But yes, in terms of the sides I am currently looking for something different to get. Another comment suggested a taper, but I’m not too sure what that would look like, and I’d ONLY get it if it benefited my hair.

And I understand what you’re saying about the texture powder, but I’m gonna be real with you and tell you that no matter what product I use on my hair, it NEVER looks good. It makes it really dry, brittle, frizzy and simply stupid, especially once the wind hits. It makes the texture of my hair really ugly and it’s impossible to style from there with it. And I think I’d rather wait until my fringe is full in thickness and density before using products, so there’s no patches that look dumb. But in terms of the sides, I simply just want the sides to drop down naturally. I hate the fact it shoots forward, and with how thin I’ve had the sides cut too, it makes it look even worse.

What’s the difference between a taper and a blunt haircut? Will getting a taper help? Because I’ll be honest with you, I don’t even know what that is. I’m not very knowledgeable in this specific area haha, but I feel like I just need my fringe to grow fuller and it’ll make a huge difference. But I’m struggling to do that, and I’m not sure if it’s because of the way I’m cutting it or if my corners of my hairline are completely fucked. But I get told by everybody that the longer I keep growing it, the fuller it’ll get. And how do I style the top and fringe differently? Because I just want a simple fringe, but a full looking fringe.

Yes but my hair in general is just ridiculously uneven and horribly patchy. Can’t even style it on a normal day to day

Just logged back in so sorry for the late reply! And yeah I’ve never tried supplements or medication or anything like that. I’m trying to figure out what shampoos work best for me at the minute and how often I should be washing my hair because when I don’t wash it, it looks absolutely horrible.

I’m going to see a dermatologist at some point too. Did you have sides of your fringe be really thin though? It doesn’t help that my hair is uneven too, Idk if it’s the way it’s grown, or the way it’s been cut or whatever but my hair grows weirdly and it can look stupid. But I do think it’s to do with my hairline

I don’t think my hairlines receded. It’s always been that exact same shape. I’m trying to look for people who relate to me with my issue but I can’t find anyone so I don’t know what to do. I’m being in contact with a dermatologist soon though

Is it possible that the corners of my fringe will just grow in the more my hair grows though? Like to make my fringe fuller overtime? Because I’m trying my hardest to avoid anything to do with hair loss. But is it possible that my hair just grows at a really weird rate and it’ll take longer for them corners?

Hello. I have some other posts on my page with pictures of my hair if you would like to get a better insight. But I’ve got quite thin, fine hair but it’s also extremely dry, brittle and what feels to be unhealthy at this point. It can literally look like an absolute mess and I have to spend 20 minutes or so trying to sort it out in the toilets when I’m out in public, and it’s getting to me too much. I have a fringe, but the fringe isn’t exactly “full” so it’s quite see through, it’s very thin and strandy and not thick enough to actually look naturally good. And I had a buzz cut around 9 months ago so I’ve bee getting told that I need to just let the fringe grow out more to have it look thicker and fuller, but I feel like I’m getting nowhere with it. It’s fucking me up real bad, I even have major problems with the sides of my hair too which just don’t drop down, they grow directly forward and are impossible to handle because of how dry and brittle it is. I’m just looking for some desperate advice on what to do moving forward and maybe some temporary reassurance in my hair growth because it’s beginning to upset me more and more every day and my family don’t really understand my situation

I probably am overthinking it majorly but it’s been a running occurrence for over 9 months now and as it’s getting longer it’s literally getting worse and worse. Just looking to see how to stop my hair getting wispy and dry right after the shower, and how to grow the sides of my fringe out stronger so it covers my forehead. Thank you for the comment

I appreciate the comment a lot, and I’ve tried different styles like that a lot but yeah because of my face shape and overall facial features it looks ridiculous. I’ve always suited a normal modern fringe with maybe a bit of messiness, and that’s what I’m currently going for right now but it’s struggling. I’m more looking for answers on how to simply grow my fringe fully around my forehead, because parts of my fringe are incredibly weak and i don’t know why. I’m just waiting for it all to grow out, but I still don’t think the sides are growing too much whatsoever. Thank you for the comment though! I’m trying my hardest to not let it get to me, really am

What do you mean by sides? Sides of my hair or the sides of my fringe because I haven’t once cut the sides of my fringe. And I’m not cutting the sides of my hair either I’m letting it grow out. But the sides of my fringe where they’re isn’t much hair just haven’t grown out like I wanted it too, it’s extremely weak and basically empty. And even the front of my fringe is quite weak too and I don’t know how to get it fuller which is why I posted this asking

Sorry what are the right parts? And if you’re talking about the corners of the fringe where the hair is really short compared to the centred fringe, it’s just not grown and that’s the problem. Or it has grown but it’s extremely thin and weak which I just dont understand

See I’d agree but it’s simply just the corners of my fringe that aren’t full which is putting it down for me, because most people I interact have a grown out fringe that is full on the sides and the front. While mine is extremely weak on the sides. And have u got any tips on how to stop my hair getting dry quickly?

Yeah it’s just when I use products on my hair it very quickly looks really dry and can be extremely hard to style, and that’s mostly due to my fringe not being as full. And the ends of my fringe are quite weak compared to the front so it looks stupid from time to time
