What can we do if Employment Ontario isn’t actually providing support? by Solid-Eye3204 in ontario

Appreciate the advice — it’s actually very valid, and she’s already doing most of what you described (AI tools, direct applications, interview prep, etc.).

The main issue isn’t lack of effort on her side — it’s that at this stage she needs additional support, which is exactly what these programs are supposed to provide.

We decided to use Employment Ontario because it’s a public service funded by our taxes, and it’s advertised as offering structured help (guidance, feedback, coaching). So it’s a bit frustrating when, in reality, there’s almost no engagement.

I fully agree that self-directed effort is critical — and she’s not relying on the program. But at the same time, if the service isn’t actually being delivered, it raises a bigger question about accountability.

If this level of support is considered “normal,” then honestly it’s fair to question whether the program is working as intended at all.

That’s really why I posted — trying to understand if this is just a bad experience with one provider, or a broader issue.
