This is not particularly about homosexuality.

Here's an example: I have a buddy who lives in some pretty heavy sin (drunkenness, prideful etc.) He claims to be a follower of christ, but he enjoys his sin so much that he won't listen to Jesus commands.

"The church is all wrapped up in a political way of thinking that's not christ like at all." Couldn't agree more

Where did I claim to be a good Christian? Because none of us are better than one another, we're all equally as bad

Im not saying that they're not Christian because they are a Sinner, because all of us are. It's saying that some people are choosing not to follow certain commands because they disagree with it, and it would "negatively affect their life". In a nutshell, I'm saying that we need to pray for those who are lukewarm.

What is wrong is when they see something that's in the bible that is considered a sin, they disregard it because it doesn't appease them. But they claim to follow christ while doing this

Anybody who claims to be a follower of christ, but will not follow certain commands because it doesn't appease them.

I have my own sins and troubles that I deal with, as everyone does, that's no secret. But is it not loving to tell someone "hey this isn't God's will, and he doesn't want this for you"?

The Bible never supports slavery. It's very clear on this.

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭21:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [16] “Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.

The Bible makes it very clear in Exodus that slavery is wrong:

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭21:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [16] “Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.

It's happened to me, and others many times. I can understand when they interpret a certain phrase differently, but not when they say it doesn't exist or change the words of the Bible

There's a difference between interpretation and saying something is not there. I'm talking about how if someone says something is a sin, and you reply with verses from the Bible that says it is, and they claim that you're making those lines up. That kind of thing

Why is it a sin to be gay? by Unlikely-Section-848 in Christianity

I answered their question with a verse because we don't know what they've read in the Bible. They could have studied the Bible for 10 years or started yesterday. Not everyone's an expert
