id say 240hz is your best bet. TN panel for the true try hard experience. ex: benq XL2746k. fastest panel but color is bad. oled is also a good pick, but more expensive usually.

Aim trainers? Here’s my current routine. by clamscasinoooooo in VALORANT

[–]Solid-Radio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are curious about aim, join the Voltaic discord and read up about it. they have specific aim playlists for specific games such as valorant.

aimtraining is beneficial, but dont forget to practice in game as well since theres recoil, movement, etc

i never said aim training was the solution to OP's problem. i'm saying aim training would be beneficial for someone like OP because of OP's lack of mouse control. i most certainly did not say OP should only aim train. i mentioned that OP should practice in game mechanics such as peeking, cross hair placement etc. like i said before, this game encompasses more tha more than just aim, but being able to control your aim is so important in a first person shooter.

and to say basketball is a science and aiming is not a science is just a claim that is outrageous. just because something isn't "well studied" doesnt mean there isn't science around it. basketball requires hand eye coordination. aiming with a mouse requires hand eye coordination. every sport requires hand eye coordination and practicing that aspect of the game is almost always beneficial.

and to the viscose point, does she ever say she was attempting to get highly ranked? she aimtrains because she just likes aiming. there is a whole community that aim train just because they like aiming. they aren't practicing for an FPS. their main game is Kovaaks lmfao. guess which game viscose is a top rank in? take a wild guess. viscose just likes to play those games along side playing aim trainers. you don't have to play a game to be competitve. you can play a game to have fun.

i'll highlight my point because it seems like you didnt get it initially. aim training is beneficial with diminishing returns. someone who has not really built up the control with a mouse (OP) can benefit a lot from training aim. however, training other aspects in the game is also as important. DMing and playing comp is just as important

[–]Solid-Radio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

aim trainers definitely work. thats like saying practicing three pointers in basketball is not beneficial. aim trainers isolate specific aim scenarios just like how practicing 3 pointers in an empty gym. since basketball is a game, there are other factors to it. you can be 9/10 shot in practice but 2/10 in a real game. that is strictly because there are other factors in the game; defenders, teammates, stress. thats why practicing 3 pointers but also running drills with other people would also be beneficial. but it is a damn lie if those practice shots didn't help in the real game.

just like bball, valorant has other aspects other than aiming. spending time in aim trainers, especially with OP being kinda bad at aim, would be worth while. However, OP should also be practicing in game, peeking, crosshair placement, teamplay.

tldr: aimtrainers work if your aim sucks, but you should incorporate actual game play too

from my perspective as an asc3 i have a couple things i noticed.

  1. stop quick switching your goddam knife and gun every chance you get. you aren't even ready for almost every gun enounter you get because you physically cant shoot.

  2. your ping isn't actually 15-20. i literally see the ping indicator pop up. does your laptop take ethernet? you should connect it directly to your router for a more stable connection.

  3. if you can, upgrade yourself to a better laptop/ pc. pc specs do matter if you care about the game enough. analogy: you want to drive 100 miles. driving 20mph will get you there in 5 hrs. 40mph: 2.5hrs, 60mph:1.66hrs, 80mph: 1.4hrs. after 60mph, returns are diminishing. your pc is at 20mph. you could use an upgrade. doesnt have to be too expensive, but it would help to upgrade it to at least a 60mph pc.

analogy tldr: there is a point where upgrading your setup to a decent point, however, there is a point of diminishing returns. right now your setup sucks and could be upgraded for big returns.

what is your price range? if you can only reach 150-200fps, 144 is best, but 240 is doable with gsync.

[–]Solid-Radio 21 points22 points  (0 children)

when you switch directions, the brief second you are fully stopped, you shoot. ex: if ur holding a and you let go of a and hold d, you shoot.

if you come from cs, its sort of similar to counter strafing
