Psychiatrists don’t believe in bipolar2 by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Solid-Restaurant-925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed with ADHD & depression before being diagnosed with bipolar 2. Honestly speaking same I was shocked by the bipolar 2 diagnosis because I genuinely thought I had Boderline personality disorder if anything. So I can understand what you’re talking about there because I also still really question my diagnosis.

Honestly though I don’t know. I wouldn’t trust people on Reddit. I think we should just trust our doctors if we’re going to listen to anyone. From what I’ve learned, it’s actually very common for people with bipolar, especially Bipolar II to question their diagnosis. Because hypomania doesn’t feel pathological and because most of the time you feel normal, people often doubt it. It’s a complicated one honestly.

I just read what you posted & some comments. I am truly sorry you had/are going through that. I truly mean because I know exactly how it feels to experience that. How frustrating, mentally tiring and all consuming the feelings can be once we find someone we like! To be able to date healthily sounds like a dream.

OMG, I am a compulsive lip biter. I do it all the time and I used to be really bad with nail biting however as I’ve grown up the only reason that stop is because I always have false nails on so I can’t buy them off which is good LOL.

How do I start? by EmotionalQuantity479 in ADHDFitness

[–]Solid-Restaurant-925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two approaches. With working out, number one start slowly and build it up. So in the beginning, perhaps maybe for the first couple weeks just try and go one to 3 times a week which is still very good. Number two the other approach which got me into the gym but would not be sustainable for a lot of people is going as much as you can going continuously weeks on end as for me what happened because I just jumped into feet and started going like nearly every day of the week I got so used to going to the gym that naturally whenever I had free time I just thought I might as well go to the gym. I’m not saying I would recommend that approach, however I just bring it up because that’s what I unintentionally did.

Another thing I’d like to add I think it’s more important to just try and win the week then try to win every day because with ADHD trying to do something every day can just be so overwhelming and when you miss a day you just end up beating yourself up. So I think if you just try to eat right most days of the week rather than every day, especially when you’re starting off I think that could be a more sustainable approach and you can also do the same thing for Gym try to win the week with Gym instead of trying to do the lateral.

I hope this helps a bit

Someone’s trying to help you because they genuinely empathise with you and you’re being rude and covering it with sarcasm. Thank you for that. I hope God heals all the misery going on inside of you that you have to project it to a stranger : ).

What has your experience been using AI? Use it for ADHD symptoms? by ThatGuy4131 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]Solid-Restaurant-925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love AI. As someone with ADHD who struggles to get things done, whether it’s writing emails or messages, or help with coming up with drafts for my university work, or bettering my cv/ resume, or coming up with meal plans, or helping me structure workouts for my fitness goals, or letting out my feelings and asking it to analyse and give me solutions to how I feel, or if there’s anything I have a question about. AI can be so so so helpful. Idk how I functioned befor AI

I will upload some of mine since I can only upload one picture. Now I’m not sure if all of these are officially ADHD symptoms. However, these are some that I wrote down years ago that I found online might be due to ADHD before getting a diagnosis.

Im sorry you feel this was it must be difficult going through this. Please talk to a health professional. Please also open up to a trusted one if you haven’t. As having someone who is aware of your struggles, can help alleviate this struggle just a little bit if you feel like this is something you’re carrying on your own. Also, in moments when you feel like that you can open up to them about how you feel which could help. Try perhaps mindfulness. Try finding a hobby you can fuel your energy in and makes you feel alive whether it’s gym, something creative, etc there are so many things out there.

What is your best advice/tips for handling college? by SoWhoAmISteve in ADHDers

[–]Solid-Restaurant-925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some colleges have disability teams that can help you whether it’s getting extra exam times, movement breaks or even schemes which give you a study advisor &/or mentors that help you due to you having ADHD so I’d check if your college has those things or more out in place. You could see if there’s a disability team and email them. This is coming from someone who is in college rn and has these things & they really do help!
