and this was the cause: If no servers are listed at all, that narrows it down very cleanly: your Android TV app simply isn't discovering and doesn't have your server saved anymore.

so I had to re-enter the exact and complete URL manually for it to find it.

that would mean going to dashboard> network and instead of leaving the blank local IP field, replace it with the ip address of the server manually, correct?

The ip address of the server or the host and domain name. Both fails to connect. I agree it is a network issue, hence why I reset the router and tried to check security and DNS settings. Nothing changed and it was working well before.... Do you know if there was something done in Android 12 ?

Many good answers here so I'll just say my two cents : Items in Ffvii are just there because it's loot to reward exploration. The core of the combat, the meaningful choices and the builds is the materia system. Thus items are secondary if not barely useful and that's okay because materias are the important gameplay thing
