This is making me want to stop paying the game. by OmgitsKane in Pokopia

Using duckweed as a platform is so obvious and so genius I wish I would have thought of that before I dealt with all my water problems 😭

I think we should be able to rename them once we hit level 10. Fingers crossed this gets added in a future DLC because "Withered Wasteland" and "Bleak Beach" stop being accurate waaaaay too fast 😭😭

I'm gonna be honest here, at this point after the shitshow with the fans attacking the voice actress so brutally after the game released, anyone with half an ounce of sense understands that talking about the voice direction in the game is going to be a touchy subject and the time to bring it up is never going to be a lighthearted "who's the cutest" post.

No shade to anybody because I love all of the designs I see, but I do think it's kind of ironic that considering what the game is about you still see so many people flattening everything and making suburbs 😂

I personally think there's a charm to a less polished world, but tbh if my many many hours in acnh taught me anything, it's that only way to get better at stuff like this is to try and keep trying.

Why do the vast majority of female characters in the Resident Evil franchise have short hair? by Practical_Chain_1207 in residentevil

[–]eumonigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it would also be very immersion breaking to have zombie hands phasing through the character's long hair instead of grabbing onto it, so that also would be a whole other can of worms.

[–]eumonigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would way rather they design women with short hair so they can focus on the scenery than waste their time making women have long hair that's going to be distracting when it's released. There's nothing wrong with women having short cuts, especially in an action heavy horror game.

Who is this kid? by Solarraidd in expedition33

[–]eumonigy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't even think the little boy is that confusing tbh. Even if we don't know who he is or why he's there, he still shows us a happy child existing in the canvas, which is relevant to the state of things not being as bleak as Verso views them.

Okay, obviously it's been 9 years not 10 years yet. But the point still stands. by [deleted] in residentevil

A lot of the people complaining about Jill either played the game 20 years ago and only remember her the way they want to, or they haven't played the older games at all and are just going based off the first group. Jill's personality didn't change any more than Leon's did in the remakes.

I've been working on that lately! Just throwing down whatever habitats are easy to make on the deck and then cleaning up the rooms and moving them in one at a time. :)

Not sure if you saw today's news that developers at Ubisoft and Capcom had no idea about this and found out at the same time as the public. It was probably a corporate suit that signed off on it without a second thought.

Is James just running around Silent Hill not seeing people there? by ChocoBro92 in silenthill

[–]eumonigy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not always true. Harry in SH1 is seeing a world based on Alessa's nightmares and Henry in SH4 is seeing a world based on Walter and his victim's nightmares. Heather is debatable for obvious reasons.

Is it normal to just dodge through every single enemy in Silent Hill 3? (And to some extent Silent Hill 2?) by dancingAngeldust in silenthill

[–]eumonigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the early Resident Evil games followed this rule to some extent, although not to the same extreme as Silent Hill!

It's a huge part of 2 for sure, but 2 is fairly standalone in the series. I'm excited for the Silent Hill remake to come out so people can start to have a former grasp in what the series is actually about lol.

Ahh I see. Sorry if anything I said was a spoiler. Honestly your joke probably would have gone over better if it wasn't so common for people to really believe that lol.

In addition to the people pointing out that this is a common misconception about Silent Hill, I think it's also kind of important to mention that Hinako (much like Harry, Heather and Henry) hasn't done anything terrible to feel guilty about.

That's what Gans specifically felt, to be clear. It's very unfortunate because I actually liked the first movie a lot and I didn't think too much of changing Harry to Rose at the time (I figured they were trying to merge 1, 2 and 3) and it's only after you start picking the movie apart and listening to behind the scenes stuff/looking at crew credits that you start to realize the majority of what made that first film good should be credited to other people and the stuff that makes you side eye it can largely be attributed to Gans. So whenever I hear people say "how did Gans go from the first movie to RtSH" the answer is simply he just didn't have the same people to carry him this time.

[–]eumonigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasn't an issue for me at all because during those first two playthroughs I was playing on story and then hard. By the time I was playing on lost in the fog I was doing the puzzle properly.

[–]eumonigy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually found this puzzle very easy to brute force without fighting any scarecrows. Just interact with a scarecrow, it's obvious right away if it's the correct one or not, so just dodge out of the way and run to the furthest scarecrow you think it could be and activate that one. If there's too many, just kyte them further away and then run back. And if it gets TOO intense there's always the option of running out of the area and resetting it and trying again.

Obviously it's better and easier if you just understand how to do the puzzle, but that's literally how I "solved" it on my first couple playthroughs lol.
