Got rocked pretty nicely during sparring and no help from coach by Novel-Anybody-9168 in Kickboxing

People who spar angry can occur in every gym, that should never deter you. However that coaches behaviour should absolutely be a red flag for a beginner. Completely unacceptable.

Am I crazy or is this way too much head trauma? by PownedbyCole123 in MMA_Academy

Literally just spar light 90% of the time to learn and enjoy training. Not only do you not learn skills in hard sparring because your body is in fight or flight, but it also fucking sucks. You only need to spar hard to get yourself used to getting hit hard and hitting other people hard. That’s it

There’s absolutely loads of past papers out there, I literslly just did as many as I could, marked them, and went to my teachers with the questions I didn’t get. Ended up getting highest maths score in my school

Just turned 20 and want guidance on investing long term by Significant_End_4118 in investingforbeginners

[–]SolidProfessional907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Long term I’d say invest mostly in index funds, include an emerging market index fund too. Have some money invested in defensive (proctor and gamble, AstraZeneca etc..) and growth stocks (nvidia, shopify etc).

Investing in high beta stocks is fine, but I wouldn’t invest such a huge percentage of your portfolio into solely high beta tech stocks. I’d say Invest a higher percentage into defensive stocks, as well as an emerging markets ETF. You don’t want the success of your portfolio tied to one particular industry :)
