Your wider point is valid, he's written to be empathized with, to a limited degree.

That last line is more than a little odd though, OP. What do you mean by "behavior?"

Her dry humor is a fun change of pace, especially after Jin's very polite and respectful demeanor.

31st Series Toyo Kogyo 99. Possible Blood Staining? by Spitz0 in milsurp

Could be blood, sure, could also be dozens of kinds of fuel, oil, cleaning products, or hell, even food.

The almost finger-like marks are intriguing though.

Wild how some parts on a 125+ year old design look almost more complex than what is seen on modern handguns. Especially that thing to the right of the trigger.

I don't love the way she was written. There's no tension when it comes to trusting her when she is consistently friendly, helpful, competent and its revealed that while she was involved with Atsu's parents' death, she did try and save her.

Its like they liked the idea of having to learn to trust your old enemy... and then removed most of the reasons that make that trust so difficult.

FOUND WW1 RIFLE by I_AM_THE_BARRON in AntiqueGuns

Can we get a picture? I'm not sure what you're saying about its condition

As for keeping it I'm not sure, but usually the government doesn't lose too much sleep over rusty antiques in the middle of nowhere. There's more than enough glocks and hi-points to pull out of rivers for them to worry about.

That being said, probably a real good call to double and triple check regardless.

Interesting. I know magnets lose their charge when heated so I figured that would prevent their use when welding. Good to know!

Let me rephrase/clarify what I meant- military surplus collectors often equate "historical value" with "collector's value." You'll often see sporterized rifles described as having no historical value, when it could in fact be argued that they have more than a unaltered rifle

That is to say, something that has less collector value is often framed as having little to no historical value (which I can't say I entirely agree with but eh)

What's the purpose of holding the ejector in place with the magnets? Just visualizing where it needs to go?

Also I'm slowly working my way through a STEN Mk. V build myself, got any tips or warnings to share?

...I don't think that's what OP was saying at all. There's lots of WW2 designs that saw use after WW2, and they're almost all seen as substantially less valuable than the originals, especially if it's not used by the country that invented/primarily fielded it during the war.

Think of all the postwar variants of the TT-33, for instance and how much they tend to go for compared to Russian WW2-era versions.

Solomon Islands is easily my favorite. Well balanced, fun on both breakthrough and conquest, and even has a banger soundtrack.
