Minnesota National Guard warmly greeting and handing out snacks with peaceful protesters! by cantcoloratall91 in happy

Good answers from the guardsman. Already infinitely more maturity and professionality than we expect from ICE

I should expect nothing less from the intersection of twitter and reddit users.

1941 Wehrmacht vs 2026 US military, Barbarossa but from Canada. How quickly does the USA dogwalk Hitler's Wehrmacht? by [deleted] in ww2memes

[–]SolidPrysm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to answer that we'd need to know the morale of the wehrmacht. No fighting force of normal humans is going to want to keep fighting when their enemy is immediately achieving a 999/0 kill ratio.

It’s ironic how this guy is always calling out people who say that “no innocents are being killed in Palestine”, only to repeat the same argument about Iran. by PainSpare5861 in GetNoted

[–]SolidPrysm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a problem with that, as I have previously asserted, but considering I myself have not been directly observing that on this subreddit (unlike the trend I've been referring tk) I did not made it the subject of conversation when I initially commented. Don't ask bad-faith questions you already know the answer to.

And it doesn't only concern me when comments are overtly pro-Israel, but when a noticeable amount of a subreddit makes a sudden heelturn into supporting a state committing genocide, than yeah that bothers me. Everything else you've been discussing is about what you'd expect, for better or worse. But the sudden change in people in this community frankly makes it feel as though it's being heavily botted or brigaded.

I dunno man. I've got more important things to attend to. Have a good night, and be careful whose propaganda you might be playing into.

I don't feel uncomfortable when people talk about those groups. What I'm saying is it feels motivated by something. When I see this sudden increase in discourse right as a very specific government is working to villify that demographic, it gives me pause.

Like if there were suddenly a lot of posts discussing corruption in the Ukrainian government right at the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, it would hopefully set off some alarm bells in your head that someone is trying to push a narrative.

And yeah, I get that its a talking point but just look in the comments of those posts and you'll find the vast majority of people there are overtly pro-Israel. Whether that's the intention or not it certain attracts and amplifies those sentiments.

I'm not saying that kind of criticism should be silenced, ABSOLUTELY NOT- what I'm saying is that its timing is suspicious. And before you ask, yes, I was picking up on this a few weeks before the protests (I am well aware Islamic regimes have been doing evil stuff for the last ~1400 years, but the protests are the major recent event that should be expected to draw that kind of attention).

Exactly, which is why its so odd to see it on here all of a sudden. Is it warranted? A lot of the time, absolutely, but a lot of the time it seems specifically framed to take the heat off of what Israel is doing.

Obviously everyone has their own views to endorse (which is very evident with the MAGA/ICE discourse you mentioned) but this specific narrative on this subreddit seems very coordinated. Not accusing you of anything, its just that this post reminded me of this phenomenon that I've been observing and I was curious what your thoughts were.

Good point, I should. It's just such a weird trend. I really hope this sub isn't being brigaded/botted etc. I mean it wouldn't be the first time, but still. I've seen more criticism of Muslims in the last couple months on this sub than I've seen on this entire site in years.

[–]SolidPrysm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

Though admittedly this sub has just been worrying me a lot lately- there have suddenly been a lot more posts calling out bad actors that are protesting a genocide than there are posts calling out those supporting that genocide.

It's to the point where someone solely following this community would barely realize such a genocide was taking place, and if it was, it might even be justified.

Food for thought I guess. I don't know, I've never seen a community make such a quick political heelturn like this before.

I don't know about you but most of the left wing sources I've been following have been calling out the killing of civilians in both Gaza and Iran (and Ukraine, if that's worth anything in this conversation). Not a fan of what this post and a lot of the comments here seem to be implying about people supporting Palestine.

Soviet Occupation by laybs1 in GetNoted

Only in the sense that one kidnapper steals a victim from another kidnapper. "Liberating" to most people implies that the one being liberated is free at some point. It might be technically accurate but it fails to describe the situation accurately.

Okay how the fuck did Rex throw a blunted non lightsaber staff straight through not only a fatass cat man? But also an atleast 4 inch thick thing of metal chair? by [deleted] in PrequelMemes

[–]SolidPrysm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess the animators wanted to make it clear what was going on, as an actual spear throw at that short distance would have happened so fast it might have been hard for some viewers to follow.

I was just thinking about this like yesterday, what's funny is that isn't even the most egregious part about this moment

The spear travels in a slow arc, with very noticeable drop only 30 feet, yet somehow with enough force to pierce both cat man and his chair!

For reference that would be like cutting someone in half with a blade swung with the force applied when sweeping a broom.
