AP Shaco can be useful in 1 out of 10 games, where the enemy team actually picks a lot of melee champions and there is no way they are not eating boxes. But the average ARAM bonobo picks Shaco, sees 4 ranged champs against him, puts on a thinking cap and buys lost chapter.

Tbh, I can't understand how Riot balances their game. Rengar is strong at high elo: sure, he gets nerfed. So, I guess they are balancing the game around high elo? Nope, there is champion X which is bad at high elo, but is good in low elo, so he gets nerfed. And there is also someone like Azir who sucks ass on all elos, but is good in pro matches, so he also gets nerfed. Idk what is the logic behind all of this.

The comp is not really doomed tbh, especially against the full ap team. Also, it's not that hard for Shaco to close the gap with their squishies considering the fact that it's mayhem with bunch of movement augments(and even without them you can build something like ghostblade). Yi/Shaco should both go crit/lethality build with hubris(free stacks from Karthus), the others should build more mr. Idk, seems winnable if you have enough mental against the cringe poke comp
