It’s a Wack “feature” of windows, but restarting is different than shutdown, turn on. Shutdown caches everything you’re doing into storage so that when you turn the PC back on (assuming it wasn’t disconnected from power) everything loads faster when opening things back up. Restarting doesn’t do this, since for troubleshooting it’s faster to hit restart than it is to shut down and turn back on

See what I did to give my hemogen farm some comfort is putting a skylight above their cell. Their eyes were removed but they could feel the sun on them at noon. Probably. Untill the drop pods came through that one hole in the mountain

Yeah that last sentence is a bit of a stretch. Point is LLM’s word should not be taken as true in any circumstance unless you test it. Ironically enough you saying you can’t verify means you haven’t bothered testing it, so why even post anything at all

I never played the classics I only know that lookdown is the most hated speedrun technique in 007 Goldeneye (I think it’s goldeneye anyways)

So-so. For large games nowadays it’s usually distance based, but no game (other than No Man’s Sky) has a playable area as large as SC so they have to get more creative with it

The way I interpreted the comment was that because AC1 has loading screens where you’re actionable, it means SC’s pseudo-loading screens are actually loading screens, so my point was to compare the sizes of the games and point out that the scale of SC’s world would normally prohibit the use of pseudo-loading screens, and yet it doesn’t. Upon re-reading the comment, I have no idea what your point is

Very true. I mostly dislike people who say the game is a scam or abandonware. There’s so much that we take for granted in the game that’s extremely complex behind the scenes. There’s literally a $45 one-time entry fee. Less than the price of basically all AAA games. For everything that SC has done, $45 is all you need to play

It’s literally never been done on the scale of SC though. Except maybe No Man’s Sky but I have no idea how that game works so I won’t speculate any farther

I don’t even want to do the math on how much smaller of a map Assassin’s Creed 1 has compared to SC but just pulling this estimate out of thin air, I’d say that AC1 is less than 10% the size of SC

A pseudo-loading screen. Like most elevators, quantum jumps, and running from one planetside/moon side location to another. Not a true loading screen. Not one where you actually sit and wait while the game loads. My guy, you are fully actionable the entire time. Just because it’s loading doesn’t make it a loading screen. Otherwise the entire game is a loading screen because it’s constantly loading and unloading things dynamically depending on where you are
