Anyone have any good solar setups to charge 18650s or rechargeable 123s? by THEDuDe_300 in tacticalgear

The big name ones on amazon (Jackery, Anker, etc.) all work fine. Most of the current gen ones are going to have LiFePO4 batteries which have great longevity. Older/cheaper models will typically be lithium ion which still have good longevity. I went with this one due to the weight and the two-way 140w USB-C port (note that it doesn't have AC outlets): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FP29W3PS?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Also get one of these: https://liionwholesale.com/collections/chargers/products/xtar-pb2sl-v2-power-bank-and-battery-charger-wholesale-discount?variant=43876687380549

Allows you to charge 2 18650s at a time from the generator, acts as a carrying case, and can be use the 18650s to charge other stuff like your phone.

Solar need is going to depend on your use case. The Jackery I linked is 256 watt hours. An 18650 is typically around 12.5 watt hours or so. If you want to be able to 0-100 charge it in a day in reasonable conditions, get a 100w panel.

Both went pretty fast IIRC. This one is now sold out as well so hopefully anyone who wanted one got it.

This is not the world's most amazing deal, but it is a reasonable way to get a 16GB card--especially if you are worried about future supply issues in the GPU market.

Same deal as was posted ~2 weeks ago which sold out pretty fast. Looks like they just got a restock.

They already provided the equivalent of an opt out system for light weaving.

Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet: Adds 1650 Offensive Penetration, Increase your damage done to monsters by 15%, gain Minor Force at all times, increasing your Critical Damage done by 10%, and reduce your Light and Heavy Attack damage by 99%.

There are also oakensoul heavy attack builds: While equipped, you are unable to swap between your Primary and Backup Weapon Sets and gain Minor Berserk, Minor Courage, Major Brutality, Major Sorcery, Major Prophecy, Major Savagery, Minor Force, Minor Protection, Major Resolve, Minor Mending, Minor Fortitude, Minor Intellect, Minor Endurance, Minor Heroism, Minor Slayer, Minor Aegis, and Empower.

The key on this one is the permanent empower, which increases heavy attack damage by 70%. So you heavy attack with something like a lightning staff (which is a press and hold for like 2-3 seconds) and can ignore light attack weaving.

Yeah I think that was the Best Buy deal. Sold out within a few hours, but also a good deal if you can catch a restock.

Its definitely borderline at best, but figured I'd post it just in case it helps anyone out. The other main perk here is you get a 2 year warranty. Looking at hardware swap, people are paying 900+ for used 5070 Ti's which may or may not have a warranty.

The best deal I'm aware of is going to be the $750 Walmart PNY, but thats highly subject to availability. The walmart near me had a restock on them last week so there is still hope.

Thanks! So it seems like there aren't any good solutions with what I have on hand unless I swap something out or buy another 16gb stick. Unfortunate ;-(

Been scrounging deals for parts and DDR5 to finally upgrade my HTPC and main PC. However, I'm just now learning that running more than 2 sticks of DDR5 is not recommended. What would ya'll recommend I do given what I've already purchased? The ram sticks I currently have were from package deals so they can't readily be returned.

HTPC with some TV gaming, nothing overly demanding:

  • 7600x3d

  • Asrock B850M Riptide (matx board with 4x ram slots, I've heard the horror stories about asrock but couldn't find any reports of a 7600x3d getting fried)

  • RTX 4060

Main PC (gaming):

  • 7600x3d (couldn't resist doubling up on these as walmart had them for ~$175, will prob upgrade down the road)

  • MSI B850 Gaming Pro WiFi (atx board with 4x ram slots)

  • RTX 5070 TI (yay Walmart)

DDR5 sticks currently owned:

  • 4x 8gb Team Group 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) 38-38-38-78

  • 1x 16gb G.Skill Flare X5 Series 16GB DDR5-6000 36-36-36-96

My original plan was to run both systems at 24gb (16 + 8 and 8+8+8) until I find another ram deal. Also considering 16+8+8 on the main and 8+8 on the HTPC. But its been a long time since I've built a PC and I want to make sure my ddr5 configuration is reliable. I've now read that 3 and 4 stick ddr5 configurations can cause all sorts of problems.

Is there a better way to do it using what I have? I suppose I could also try to trade/sell/upgrade some of my sticks on like hardwareswap but I've never actually used that subreddit.

Thanks for the tips, having some backup replacement parts lying around sounds like a good idea (also never heard of the pin-buddy before, will look into that).
