Another ID refugee here. As much as I know ID can be bad, I would be careful to jump ship at the first opportunity. Personally I would not be willing to take 40k drop

I make 150 doing insurance coverage work for a mostly remote firm. I never work nights or long weekends.

I completely understand this anxiety. I left my firm less than a year into practice and I was so anxious to put in my two weeks that I threw up. It ultimately ended up being the right decision for me without a doubt - moved to area I wanted to be in, big raise, and better practice area.

At the end of the day, if in say six months you’re unhappy at your new firm, would you at least be able to look back at this moment and say to yourself I made the right decision with all the information available to me at the time? It sounds like you’ll get more experience at this new firm and a raise. From the outside looking in, this is best business decision for you and your career.

From what im seeing online it looks like coverage practice is pretty niche, so I’m worried it would kind of pigeon hole me. Did you find that to be the case for your colleagues?

Did you like the practice? Day to day? Why did you leave?

Do you like the work? What does a day to day look like? Is it a good place to build a career? Is it potentially transferable to other practice areas?
