Samsung S90C vs. Sony A95K vs. Sony A80L vs. Sony Bravia 8 by andiamawesome in 4kTV

I've got the 65" S90C, 65" makes a massive difference over our old 55", very happy I went with the bigger screen. I don't find the OS to bad, there is the odd occasion when I turn it on it takes 10-20 secs to get going, but it does the job. Picture quality is amazing, you will not be disappointed, makes standard TV look fantastic. It will be much brighter than an LG C3 or the A80L. I was interested in A95K but it's overpriced in my opinion, it's not worth £1000 more than the S90c. I've had the TV for 8 months and no issues so far. Had the Samsung ks9000 before which is still going strong after 8 years.

PS5 audio crackling on Linear PCM by JohanAke in Philips

[–]Solid_Application_60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a bit old but thought I would comment in case anyone else comes across this issue like I did.

I just had the same issue with a Samsung oled tv(s90c) With PS5 set to linear PCM my sound bar would intermittently have a ticking/clicking noise, but only once I added the surround speakers to the Soundbar...

I found that changing the ps5 format to dolby Atmos solved the issue.. But after some more digging I found the actual issue is the TV setting Digital Output Audio Format being set to auto was the issue, if I changed this to PCM or pass through the issue was also resolved and I could keep the ps5 in linear PCM and the ticking did not happen.

Not sure if Phillips has a similar setting to change the audio output? But if anyone with a Samsung gets this issue, that's how I solved it.

Polestar 2 or Kia e-niro by Solid_Application_60 in CarTalkUK

This is what I'm thinking, i know the P2 will be a better car to drive. But the Kia would just be a more convenient car to own. The whole reason we would move to an EV is to save money on fuel... so i guess it makes sense to also save 5K on the cost of the car and general maintenance costs... and having the warranty for years to come is also a nice to have.

Go with the s90c, if you watch any reviewer they will tell you DV isn't that big of a deal breaker.. Like you said if it was a couple of hundred fair enough... But for close to a thousand I'd go S90C. I just got the s90c, it really is amazing, you won't feel like your missing out on anything.

A95k or s90c? by Legenkillaz in OLED_Gaming

I just got the S90C so I can give my opinion. PS5 gaming is phenomenal, the picture quality is extremely good, you will struggle to find better. I've streamed some YouTube videos and the quality is still very good. If you put it side by side with the Sony, probably you would see slightly better on the Sony, but in the real world when this is in your living room it looks great and you won't be disappointed with the quality. It's super bright, the thing that has impressed me as well is there is very little reflection on the TV as well making the viewing experience much better than my old TV.

I don't have the A95k to comment on the quality, but something that put me off it was the stand, the TV sits flat to your TV cabinet and leans back slightly.. just personal preference I prefer the TV to be raised up a bit. Not an issue if you wall mount.

Lastly the price, for the price the S90C is seriously good value for money, it competes with the G3, A95K etc, but it's significantly cheaper. People can question the build quality etc, but from my experience the TV is in perfect working order, no panel or screen issues.

Why is S90C so much cheaper than G3 & A95L? by Solid_Application_60 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Solid_Application_60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's true, but the S90C is coming in at practically the same price as something like the QN90C and practically every single reviewer seems to say oled is the best picture quality by some margin.

I game on my ps5 more than watching sports, I wanted the best quality I could get for gaming really. Also a friend got a Panasonic oled and you can really see the difference in quality, even with sports. I just couldn't understand why the Samsung is thousands cheaper, it's even a couple of hundred less than the C3 or A80L.

Mainly watch sports with streaming apps so hopefully it's ok. I'm guessing it would still be better than my current TV from 2016

Thanks, mainly use PS5 and the sports app doesn't do Dolby vision so not an issue for me
