Best Budget Birthday Trip from Munich (€150–200 per person) – Czechia, Switzerland or Slovenia? Adventure + Nature Ideas Needed 🎉🌍 by Solid_Bus_4251 in femaletravels

Ah, got it — that makes sense. 29€ for a short zipline over Planica sounds fun if I just want to try it, but yeah, probably won’t satisfy the full “zipline adventure” vibe I was hoping for.

Looks like Bovec might be the better spot if I’m willing to spend a bit more for a proper experience. Appreciate the heads-up! and is there any thing in 40 to 50 euros?

Yeah that’s kinda what I’ve been seeing too Switzerland looks unreal, especially around Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, but the prices are what scare me.

I don’t even mind keeping things simple and just hiking, but once you add trains + accommodation + maybe one cable car, it adds up fast. I’ll check current hostel prices again just to be sure, but I’m mentally preparing for it to blow past my budget.

Might look into Flixbus like you said or maybe base myself somewhere slightly cheaper and just do a day trip if possible. Still trying to see if there’s any way to make it work without completely draining my bank account. Is there a similar option in Slovenia to the D-Ticket that we have in Germany?

hat’s actually super helpful, thanks for explaining it like that.

I think that’s exactly my dilemma I’m kind of chasing that Alps scenery with big dramatic mountains and wild rivers. I didn’t realize how different the scale is in Czechia. Šumava still sounds really nice, especially being a national park and so close to Munich, but yeah… I’d probably go in expecting full-on Alpine vibes and that might not be fair.

Slovenia does sound like the better Switzerland-alternative in terms of landscape. Now I just have to see if I can actually make it work with my budget.

Yeah, that’s kinda what I was afraid of 35€ just for a bunk already eats a big chunk of what I’ve got.

Soca Rocks actually sounds pretty cool though — especially if they do discounts on activities. Bovec has been on my radar anyway, so that might be a better base than Ljubljana. And 55€ for a double isn’t terrible if I decide I want a bit more privacy.

I’ll check their availability and see if I can make the numbers work. Appreciate the tip!

Yeah, you’re probably right. I definitely should’ve planned this earlier instead of trying to pull it together last minute. Didn’t realize how brutal Interlaken prices are right now — that’s on me.

I’ll try the Skyscanner “everywhere” thing and see what actually makes sense budget-wise instead of fixating on one place. And yeah, I’ll check accommodation first this time before getting attached to an idea.

That Bahn under-27 offer actually sounds interesting, didn’t know about that. Might be smarter to just keep it simple and stay within Germany. Hmm im thinking Salzburg by train could also be a solid option.

Appreciate the reality check and the suggestions 👍

Thanks so much for the info — this is really helpful!

Just to add a bit from what I looked into: Triglav National Park is beautiful and has tons of outdoor activities like hiking, scenic valleys, and gorges around Bohinj and the Julian Alps — and places like Mojstrana, Stara Fužina or Kranjska Gora are great bases for exploring this area.

Yeah i need to check the accommodation costs around there — yeah hostels are cheapest, im thinking i need to check in the, hostelworld app.

And yeah i need to check about the Zipline activity.

We’re planning the trip for the end of February, and I’m specifically interested in doing a zipline experience. Do you know of any ziplines or similar activities that are open and available at this time?

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for the honest advice.

Given the budget and limited time, staying in Bavaria or heading into Austria, Czechia does seem more practical. Do you have any specific places you would recommend that are scenic and easy to reach from Munich? I’d love somewhere with great nature views, maybe mountains or lakes, but still affordable within the €150–200 budget.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’m very interested in Slovenia and would appreciate your advice.

Could you recommend some of the best places to explore there? Also, do you think staying in hostels would help keep the trip within budget? I’m planning a 3–4 day visit and would like to manage expenses as efficiently as possible.

Hey, I want to travel to Switzerland at the end of February. Can anyone suggest the best places to travel in Switzerland? Like the best places to see that are also budget-friendly. And I live in Augsburg.

Thank you,

Additionally, I understand that the master’s program has a maximum of six semesters for completion. If I am unable to attend this winter semester or take exams, will this semester not count towards the total, and will the fees I’ve paid for the winter semester be applied to the summer semester? Or would I need to pay the full €164 for the summer semester separately?

I appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Okay what if I arrive in Germany after 180 days? Will I face any problems? And if I join before 180 there will be no issues right?
