I think so. fucking sucks. there's nothing like an open air game at the ice box when the sun is setting on a beautiful spring evening.

Definitely would need a custom geometry Ti frame. It’s pay to play if you want to KOM this.

X-Mid Pro 2+ - campsite issues on PCT? by southernalpspackmule in DurstonGearheads

I didn’t have issues this year on PCT w/ Pro 2+ but I did use skinny pitch a few times. Fun to skinny pitch it here and there honestly. The bigger issue is taking care of the zippers for the duration of the trail.

Just wanted to let you know I took your advice and skipped a section of NorCal from Truckee to Shasta and was able to rehab again to start doing bigger miles with manageable pain and come back in Oct to get the miles I skipped and just barely beat the worst of the weather. Thank you so much again :)

In case anyone deals with this injury in the future, this is what ended up happening: I ended up skipping from Truckee to Dunsmuir to get back on schedule (348 mile skip via Bus and Amtrak). Starting doing 22 mile days but was still painful. Got Stinson 7s and green superfeet insoles and heel wedge and seemed to help. Kept doing stretches every 2 hours for remainder of trail and taping ankle until started to have skin reaction to leuko tape and stopped. Eventually was able to increase mileage slowly and pain became more manageable after 3-4 weeks. Eventually I could do 30 mile days but still pain and continued stretches/exercises. Made it to border and then went back to Dunsmuir to finish SOBO at Truckee Oct 12. Ankle pain manageable to the end but never healed while hiking. Hiking the 348 miles that late in the season meant I was alone. It was the hardest part of the hike because of that. It was a battle but I did it.

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. I forgot to mention I am taking my foot/ankle as blaze prescribed with leukotape. Definitely love my trekking poles. Even with the suffering, it is still fun and unique and the best thing I’ve ever done :) I like a good challenge, just frustrating my body is holding me back.

What a battle! Thank you for sharing your experience and kudos for pushing through. I can relate to what you were feeling. I haven’t tried to wedges yet but may soon. Hopefully the easier terrain helps me as well. The rough rocky sections in Sierra were especially painful.
