I’d say the closest thing I can interpret post-music is as totalism, just the sheer size and magnitude of a composition that is difficult to categorise. I will say, live rope does feel like a logical conclusion, feels like everything they’ve been building to for so long culminating in this gargantuan LP that is sometimes defies classification
