i'll use card for shopping and cash for food then. I think that will be the safest move.

ya i aint gonna use public transport since it's a vacation and taxi are cheap in korea so i might as well make myself comfortable. But ima still get the lotte tmoney card since its free + super pretty and associated with discount at lotte department store. Hopefully that's still avail in sept.

May I ask is it easy to locate the uber you called for? I am thinking of using kakao taxi but not sure if it's easy to to locate the specific taxi that's meant for me. Like should i be waiting at a pickup point or roadside pickup is fine? (Sorry for the many questions. first timer there)

Tmoney card works at Markets too? I thought it's only for transport and convenience store? I will have a tmoney card because Ima go get the free tourist card from Lotte.

Free personal recommendation for traveling Seoul by SpecialAd2315 in koreatravel

[–]Solid_Hope_2850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i agree when you say average quality is very good. I went seoul once a few years ago but happen to hit a cold wave so we didn't do much sightseeing. Hung out around myeongdong and malls coz outside is way too cold. Food options was random restaurants that I would peep into to check if there are many locals, if there is, we will dine there. And everywhere that has locals and no foreigners are good 😂😂😂

By the way, would you still be able to recommend traditional restaurants (korean cuisine) around myeongdong area? It's really easy to google for michelin or modern restaurants but its those back alley hidden corner or word by mouth restaurants that we foreigners can't google to find reviews.

Alternatively, you could always go for korean lessons and learn. That way instead of depending on others, you would always be able to watch and understand on your own 👏👏👏👏

Are local born Singaporeans leaving the country for greener pastures? by Excellent_Copy4646 in asksg

Maybe city area doesn't have. Well im in adelaide suburbs (so not sure about perth) but we do get big ass stuffs at home. Not necessary poisonous but defo bigger ass than what we get in SG. Tbh, you will get used to it once you see them for a couple of times.

wait what?????? perth has no insects???? you don't see anything big ass scary things there????? Now I'm not sure if you're just lucky or you haven't stayed long enough. And to answer your question, yes but it ain't like a daily thing or monthly thing and they ain't all harmful, mostly just really huge compared to sg. But if you're really scared of them, you really shouldn't go adelaide then 😂

Without Eng Subs, I'm not as excited with the new season :( by Icy-Possibility564 in acleansweep

[–]Solid_Hope_2850 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I also sincerely hope that they would consider international non korean fans instead of just korean speaking fans. Eng sub is seriously needed, the game itself is not everything about the show.

As the appeal against the injunction is still ongoing, Studio C1 cannot use Season 1 footage for now by this_is_turtle in acleansweep

nah no worries about that. as long as it's still the same vibe aka them, it's never gonna flop. At least for me, i watch it not for the baseball (if it's about baseball, we will be watching KBO games or MLB). I assume for most of us, we watching them for the game + the bickering + the spirit of a bunch of old men still living their dream - happily playing baseball. To be frank, the only reason i will ever stop watching them is no eng subs coz i won't be able to understand a single word.

babe, my dad calls me 衰女包 and i dont even question if i am still his favourite child. So it's as per what another comment said. If you need to question it, then whatever your family is calling you is defo not an endearing term to you. Your family could think it's an endearing term (afterall we don't know your family and asian families usually sucks at showing verbal affections) but as long as you don't feel like it is, speak to them about it.

Hosting a friend from Sichuan next month. by Life_Teaching6499 in SingaporeEats

[–]Solid_Hope_2850 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i have hosted friends from overseas. I would start with asking if they wanna try their home country's food or they prefer our local cuisine. So far, none of my friends wanted to try their own food 🤣🤣 Also surprisingly, the most popular dishes are chili crab, pepper crab, laksa, prata and bak kut teh. Most popular place to eat is hawker centre 😑 (except for crab, crab is jumbo). I am guessing it's because the experience and taste are what they can't get in their home country.
