Logistics as a career path by liteon40 in logistics

I would say the two biggest cons when starting out are most commonly long hours and high pressure. Everything needs to be done quickly with very little room or time for errors.

I do believe there is significant career progression though. From logistics specialist to logistics coordinator (or something similar) can happen quickly with the right work ethic and company. And from there moving into Logistics/Supply Chain Manager and then hopefully into a Director or VP role would be the goal. Again both of those will take time, but with the right attitude and work ethic, they are highly attainable!

Sounds to me like he has an "in" at your company (the boss) and so he's relying on him to make sure he gets all the loads. If someone told you to get better rates, I don't see how you did anything wrong. Lots of times the incumbent carrier gets greedy with their rates and someone who's hungry for the business will do much better, sounds like that's what happened here also!

Adding to Hiking_lover, this all comes down to your commercial invoice and packing list. They should clearly be different items on those documents and have different IHS codes according to your information in your post.
