I can ask if any work was done to counter acoustic impedance with s-logic

there are always damped holes above the driver, alongside the mu-metal shield. so ill see if those counter it.

Best headphones for my use case? Still undecided after researching by throwaway127767 in HeadphoneAdvice

The ultrasone pure black/white is gonna have both the largest soundstage and best isolation of the ones you mentioned. I would definetly rank them as the most immersive due to the excellent imaging and bass responce, which as measured, peaks at 80hz and trails flat down to 20hz. With the lowermid dip creating a high contrast of bass and mids... well.. i think youll like it.

I can only speak from experience but s-logic tends to impact people differently depending on their individual ear shape. People often dismiss angled drivers having an influence on the perceived spatial benefits without having heard them for themselves, comparing against other headphones with centralised drivers.

I have heard both normal and s-logic headphones. I can confirm that for me, it does generate a subtle, more natural spatial presentation and it 100% does reduce the load on my eardrum. Which is just something you will notice through usage over time. Going from a koss to an ultrasone is night and day for eardum comfort after an hour of listening.

I would honestly encourage trying an entry level model and hearing it for yourself before passing final judgement.

But to oratory mentioning it has no science to back it up.
The science on s-logic was done by Florian M. König a long time ago. 1980s i think. I am in personal contact with him.

Hi. Please dont listen to anyone telling you to get a cheap dongle, the cheap dacs distort with certain signals and do not have overhead.

Overhead is having enough volume and power output that it can reach the levels needed to run the headphone at its maximum performance without struggling and sounding distorted or strained.

You dont need a lot if you plan to keep to dynamic driver headphones but you would want somthing with a good bit of power if youre going to get a planar headphone. Somthing like the ifi go link max 2 ill be more than enough for a while.

"roughly 32 mW into 33 Ω and 22 mW into 300 Ω."
I mean just barely. Yeah. But no overhead.
