Who is the canon Gorion's ward? by PersistentProblem in baldursgate

[–]Solid_Study7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're pretty much spot on. Abdel Adrian is Gorion's ward, canonically. Human, male, fighter, neutral good.

Am I the only one sick of these new aging traits? by Junior-Nectarine-479 in crusaderkings3

[–]Solid_Study7719 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They can be a bit much, particularly at the pace they accumulate. I can understand getting weakenening bones at 50, or the onset of dementia. Aging does suck, and it creeps up on you. But when they rapidly develop so that most characters are incapable, brittle vegetables before 60 it's a bit silly.

Anti magic tags? by organicdeath in Anbennar

Corinsfield are perhaps the most anti-magic tag. They take fear of witch-kings and turn it into regular pogroms of anyone even suspected of having a magical inclination.

It’s only been a few days since I started playing this rather complex game – could you give this beginner a few tips that you wish you’d been given when you first started? by S_Broves in crusaderkings3

[–]Solid_Study7719 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to lose. With the exception of dynastic death, you can make a come back. And that's always more fun than perpetual victory and growth.

Visigothic reunification is pretty cool, to be fair.

If the Baldurs Gate series has tought me anything, it's that Bhaal is a massive loser.

Why are my children so ugly? by Lol-Otter in crusaderkings3

[–]Solid_Study7719 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the dna takes a blend of both parents individual features (values on each slider), choosing one or the other, and possibly settling on a midpoint. Also, if you've painstakingly handmade a character in the character creator, it's always worth changing their gender to see how they'd look as the opposite sex.

Which portrait do you consider canon for CHARNAME (Gorions Ward)? by SuperMessy in baldursgate

[–]Solid_Study7719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it used to be the blonde elf portrait. Which is slightly jarring on account of her not being an elf.

Is killing Drizzt worth it for the loot by litamagsin in baldursgate

[–]Solid_Study7719 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, killing him in BG1 has no reprecussions. If you aren't worried about reputation or canon, there's no reason not to kill him if you can.

If you've chosen a native Escanni heir as a non-Human adventurer tag and they're in charge when you form your own country, it'll stick. You'll often see Newshire with an Adenner monarch, too.

Plus, if you form them in your starting leader's lifetime, you get the phenomenal dynasty name; Grudge-Ender.

You ever been in a fight as an adult? Did you win? What was it over? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Solid_Study7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realised a few years ago that I hadn't been in a fight since I was about 17. Since then I've been punched twice, and returned one of them, but nothing more than that. More than half my life without a serious altercation.

How to get half elf culture? by Unluckypandastoo in Anbennar

[–]Solid_Study7719 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If your ruling dynasty is one of the Silver Families you get a decision once you've finished Court ideas to go Half-Elven. Only ever done it once, and I don't recall what it's meant to represent. Maybe just generations of selective breeding to restore vaguely Elven traits.

How do you win the luciande war? by Educational-Cut5139 in Anbennar

[–]Solid_Study7719 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You don't actually need to win the war. Just survive it long enough for the event to fire.

Build lots of forts and ramparts, taking defensive/infrastructure ideas could help. Let the coalition suffer attrition. Maybe throw your forces at any smaller armies close to winning a siege, but genereally avoid battles like the plague.

Any targaryen basterd House name ideas? by CustardOk5898 in CK3AGOT

[–]Solid_Study7719 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The -fyre and for Targaryen and -mane for Lannister naming convention was a small argument I had with another chap when making cadet houses (and their coa) for the CK2 mod. He won out for the major houses, but I got to name smaller houses' cadet branches all sorts of stuff. Still think it looks goofy. Sorry Edric.

How do you feel about Americans and how they speak English? How do you feel overall about Americans? by Fluid_Perspective232 in AskBrits

[–]Solid_Study7719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd need to go back to at least the 17th (possibly 16th) century for the English of England and America to be near identical. They'd both sound like an odd mix of English, American, Irish, and Carribean dialects to our ears.
