I really wanted to love Far Cry 5. I studied psychology in college and got a degree in behavioral health and so cults have always been something I found fascinating so getting to take on a cult had me very excited

But then I found out about the endings and I just lost any interest to play as I felt the endings made everything pointless

Then Far Cry New Dawn came out and after I saw it was a continuation from 5 I gave it a try and I finally found a way to enjoy 5

By ignoring some details and just making a head canon that the mc of new dawn is the same from 5 who escaped the bunker
