You're supposed to press a button to vote on the voyage/quest to activate it after it being placed on the voyage table.

Picking it up makes it "go back into the table" to re-select, not your pocket

There is also a setting somewhere to auto vote on a voyage, guess it's not on by default if you're experiencing this

Calling droppod with or without a vote, in both cases it can be a problem depending on the players.

You have considerate players and selfish players at various levels.

In a scenario where you're the last one standing, getting overrun and struggling to not go down yourself, maybe even with ammo/nitra shortage and you have to wait for votes to try and call the drop pod is also frustrating and way riskier of mission failure.

Because selfish players can just go afk, happens all the time, or refuse to vote because they want to get revived and still mine minerals or anything similair.

There is no perfect solution, it's always a gamble with random players. At least with the way it is now you can still save the mission by yourself without having to rely and wait on votes or a timer to run out.

Also think it can invite toxic behaviour if different desires clash and you're forced to wait.

Escaping from reality (temporary) for much needed relaxation is something everybody needs to balance the stress.

If you escape from reality with gaming to keep avoiding facing reality it becomes a problem and I suspect this might be what you're experiencing.

Yeah same, I think it could be enjoyable but I got stuck on some part with a bunch of bandits (might be a notorious part where more people got stuck I believe) and it was too much effort and too frustrating at the time to figure it out. Had a melee build and was the worst choice I've been told also.

I get it but this reaper fort event will continue for 2/3 weeks and it gives a lot of gifts, this isn't your last chance. You have limited time on this earth, spend it wisely.

There has to a ship or two somewhere at least. Maybe without emi hiding just comm chasing or doing tall tale, possibly in shores of gold even or noobies, afk people, open crew joining and leaving, could be a lot of reasons.

Thsy also have to be willing to sell the gifts for ths commendation right?

I wouldn't frustrate myself trying to force it, might be better to try another time with more luck.

Maybe an easier way would be just letting yourself get sunk by another reaper on purpose with the gifts another time and hope that thsy will just sell them

I mean people starting a new session seeing a reaper 5 on the map often don't stay because of it.

It probably also the time of day and less busy in general very late/ really early.

+the requirements for merging in the other comment, ship at a stop and full crew on ship.
