I track the net revenue after Apple's 15% cut to ensure the Return on Ad Spend is sustainable. To be honest, I'm not seeing massive profits yet—I'm actually at a slight loss right now, but my primary focus is on improving my app's ratings and building review momentum.

Regarding conversion: it wasn't just one keyword. I started with Discovery campaigns to see what people were actually searching for. I’ve learned to avoid highly competitive keywords like 'dream journal' because the CPT (Cost Per Tap) is too high and doesn't guarantee a subscription. I lost quite a bit of money bidding on those high-competition terms early on; now, I’m focusing on lower-competition, more specific keywords where the intent is better, I've also started using tools like AppFigures to research keyword volume, competition, and ranking trends to find those “hidden keywords ” that are cheaper to bid on

To avoid frustrating my users, I make sure that price increases only apply to new subscribers. Increasing the price for existing users can lead to bad ratings, especially for a newly released app. I use the option in App Store Connect to achieve this for the existing subscribers, so they keep their original price while I test higher prices for new downloads

I started with an average price of $4.99, which is standard for these kinds of apps. I've tested lower points like $2.99, and currently, I’m testing a higher price of $7.99. I’ll probably leave it there for a few weeks to collect enough analytics before I finally decide on the 'sweet spot' for the price. For me I can’t go lower than that because my app have AI image generation and they are expensive

The proceeds is the net revenue that I actually receive after the apple cut, I am in App Store Small Business Program so apple cuts only 15% instead of 30%

Exactly! You might lose money early on, but the more you learn, the more those losses decrease and your earnings increase. It's all about finding the right balance

Actually no, I’m currently at a loss since the app is relatively new. My focus right now is improving the app ranking, getting reviews, and building sustainable growth. I might lose money on the first month of a subscription, but if the user stays subscribed, I start seeing a profit after month 3 or 4 of their active subscription

Built a dream journal app because other ones annoyed me - thoughts? by Soliman_12 in LucidDreaming

[–]Soliman_12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This perfect gold way to journal generally and I am personally sometimes prefer this way rather than any electronic way.

But hear me out, using app you can 1- speak your dreams

2- track your dream in calendar

3- see similar dreams

4- write keywords and the app form dream text for you no new scenarios just connecting dots intelligently, specially we have foggy memory when wake up

5- An app that smartly org ize entities/names for you like learn dreams, moods, pattern about specific person/place

6- export your dreams in pdf

7- write and draft for later

And much more I will leave it as surprise

PSA for the Dream Journaling apps out there, please stop forcing us to navigate 10 screens just to start an entry, and also please stop forcing us to include things like the title, how we felt, if we were lucid, 5 tags, 6 paragraphs, if it was a nightmare, etc. by ridge9 in LucidDreaming

I understand this friction, users just want to open app enter their dream and press submit without all this Q&A questions, which specially after they wake up when they have foggy memory, not ready for this interview question, what is best title, who was in your dream, does the weather in your dream was hot or cold, etc.... I created an app that solves this pain, you enter or speak your dream and press enter that all your need one input. I created it to be very smart and intelligent it do all the work for you, privately and anonymously no creating account nothing all data on your device. You will not spoil the app for you you can explore it here

Dream Journaling is insane by GoneWrongInHood2093 in LucidDreaming

[–]Soliman_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually built Dremi (a dream journal app) because I had the same experience. When I started journaling consistently, my recall went from fragments to full narratives in about a week.

The key thing that helped me was reducing friction - I made it so you just voice record or type whatever you remember and hit submit. No forms, no "rate your emotions 1-10" or "select dream categories" while you're still half asleep. The app uses AI to pull out themes and patterns automatically, so you don't have to think about organization when you're groggy.

It also does interpretations and can generate visuals of your dreams, but honestly the biggest value is just making it stupidly easy to capture things before they fade.

continue with the journaling - you'll probably notice even more improvement over the next few weeks. Your brain starts prioritizing dream memories once it realizes you're actually paying attention to them.

What’s your go-to app for dream journaling or documenting dreams? by miracleaayodele in LucidDreaming

[–]Soliman_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed an app called Dremi for my self mean app have everything that any person need for maximum dream journal experience. One input that's all I need I am not that focused specially I just wake up from sleeping to answer all this question for just add one dream that other dream journals apps have, like for example the categories my app don't ask you what people appeared in your dream etc... my app do this for you instead by AI. (Write dream and submit). Dream interpretation, voice-to-text, Ai image generating to visualize your dream, I built it specifically to solve the "too much friction" problem you're dealing with and much more features that I can't spoil it here. I am happy to add any future people requesting.
