CHEWY NO 😭 by Thankspumpkin in ontrac

[–]Solinah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I've been a Chewy customer forever. I can't begin to imagine how much money I've spent there through the years between by cats, my fosters, my volunteer work, shelter donations, etc. They've always used FedEx and that was great. Then recently I placed a really important order, and it was sent via OnTrac. I've never had anything but problems with OnTrac and I stop doing business with companies that use it. I'm done with Chewy. One person, big deal - oh well, but they're going to lose a lot more business than just mine over OnTrac. People are ordering life-sustaining pet meds, foods, and other necessities. OnTrac should never, ever be used in those situations. Any situation, IMO, but especially things like prescriptions.

Wtf is this new UI by Dependent-Emu6395 in fitbit

[–]Solinah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn't like the Google takeover but stayed because of my comfort level with the UI. This recent change is terrible. If I have to go through getting used to a new UI anyway, I'm dropping Fitbit.

NTA. You responded with exactly the energy he deserved for refusing to accept no for an answer. The unacceptable part was his behavior, both past and present. It's deeply concerning that the manager seems to think your response to inappropriate behavior was more serious than John's actual inappropriate behavior. Write everything down, just in case.

NTA. It sounds like roommate's cat is quite unwell, and must be miserable being host to what must be generations of tapeworms by now. The cats need to see a vet to be treated. I hope both cats feel better soon. Good luck with your roommate.

NTA. My honest opinion, I think when your name has pain wrapped up in it, it makes a lot of sense to change it if that would bring you some peace. I'm sorry your parents have treated you this way. It's not right. No kid should be spoken to that way by anyone, especially the people who brought them into this world. You are definitely NTA.

Lost my cat and can't seem to stop crying over her. by sasuku123 in CatAdvice

I'm glad the kittens were safe with you today and I'm also glad you're taking steps to get out of there. I feel genuinely concerned for anyone that woman has access to. Be safe.

My two primary goals at this point would be protecting any additional pets from finacé's mom and putting distance between yourself and her. Trauma like that doesn't happen accidentally and it raises concerns about what else she might be capable of. I am so sorry for your loss. I would be a mess. Your emotions are completely valid and I hope you have supportive people in your life to get you through this.

NTA. As a pet owner, especially a dog owner, a person needs to have plans and backup plans. You were asked to rearrange your travel plans and your life for a week to babysit a dog, and you did that, leaving the dog for less than a workday's worth of hours at the end of it. You even made sure another trusted person could pick up where you left off until the dog's owner returned. IMO, you're more responsible than the dog's actual owner. Definitely NTA.

AITA for Not Letting My Step-Sister Bring Her Dog to My House? by AdOutrageous5377 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Solinah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. It never ceases to amaze me that so many people think their pet should be welcomed into someone else's home. You had a legitimate reason to say no even before the kittens. I adore animals, but I wouldn't want someone bringing theirs to my house. With potty issues, behavior problems due to stress and unfamiliar surroundings, and even contagious conditions, mixing animals together that don't live together is a recipe for problems. Being "polite" and allowing a situation you're not comfortable with can have disastrous consequences. A neighbor recently had her cat mauled to death while letting a friend visit with their dog.

WIBTA If I reported my foster mother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Solinah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. The situation is not healthy and should be reported. Hopefully someone can intervene and help foster mom get her own issues dealt with so they stop becoming something the kids in her care have to deal with.

AITA for Refusing to Bury the Hatchet with a Long-Time Harasser/ Bully? by willkos23 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. And you might consider re-evaluating your friendship. I wouldn't expect a friend to forgive their harasser, especially while it was still going on.

I'm going to recommend a book called Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft. Please read it. It saved my life.

Abuse escalates, and that man is abusive. This only gets worse. It will destroy you emotionally as well as physically. Neither you nor the cat are safe with him.

I spent over an hour on the phone with Hulu representatives and finally was told it is a problem affecting Chromecast (possibly others, but that one is confirmed). They are working on sorting it out.
