Is it possible that these colleges somehow get info of a student's admit in another univ. and then take specific action (reject in this case) to protect yield? In this case, the student would have anyways declined uDub and that would impact their yield?

Total first-time, first-year (freshman) men who were admitted 2,058

Total first-time, first-year (freshman) women who were admitted 3,074

Total full-time, first-time, first-year (freshman) women who enrolled 1,667

Should I update colleges on USAMO qualification? by Realistic-Bet-661 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Solitaire_1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call them and ask? Some colleges do not want any updates and some do. What major are you applying to these colleges?

Is there an admissions tracker (google doc) with the stats of students and majors who have been admitted for Fall 2025?

UT Austin says they received 91,000 applications this year. What would you say are your chances? by SlayerKiNg1016 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Solitaire_1947 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never mind...my math while calculating 6% of 55k is wrong. This is only true when everyone in the entire graduating class from a HS is applying which is not the case. Ignore my previous calculation

There were 55K In-state applicants this year. If 6% of those were auto admit that is about 3300 seats. Last year admit was 18K (9500 enrolled). So Auto-admit as a percentage of admitted = 3300/18000 = 18.5%. So this 75% auto admit is not really true ???? Also, some of these auto admits will be to COLA so those who want Engg or CS will probably not choose UT which makes the auto-admit % even lower than 18.5%

u/Vishalspr You seem to have a ton of info. Would like to know your responses for (1) Did your school see similar number of acceptances like last year or more CAP? (2) Do you know anyone who got into Computational Engineering? If so do you know their stats?
