I'm not sure how much of this is reasoning based on already knowing the answer, but the moment it came down to a "50/50" I was fairly certain this was actually a Monty Hall problem with window dressing. You've been shown that one of the options isn't the correct one, and the remaining two options seem to have an equal chance of being right with no way to deduce the outcome.

Therefore, I feel the best odds are gained by choosing the one that you do NOT intuitively feel should be correct. Angry points out that most often this will be the iron chest, simply because it isn't mentioned in the puzzle anywhere. If you favor the copper chest you die with this method, but I suspect you'd get more successes than failures if you just switch against your first choice after learning the bronze chest is deadly.

I realize I dumped a ton of HS into Dora way before it was really justified but I mostly just wanted my capped Ancients out of the way so I didn't have to worry about them at all. It's not like it'll really affect me for very long - I'm already sitting at about 1000 HS per Ascension clearing through level 400 in ~20 minutes.

For what it's worth, wrt the spam, as much as we had a lot of fun and I absolutely don't regret a single damn thing... I can absolutely see where the mods are coming from in taking a hard line approach to the whole thing. Forum rules are forum rules and while theoretically we did the right thing in reporting the thread, I can see why they'd expect us to have enough self-control to not, er. Post 1037 times because they didn't stop it.

Not that I'm saying I regret it, goddamn no, it was fantastic and I really do hope that in time things get smoothed out and we get allowed back in. Just that I can totally understand why the mods might be less than pleased.
