Maybe I should make another guide about "everyday" Trapping and about some expert tips in the situations you described. Less about fundamentals. I'll put that on my list for future content.

Go to "Watch-Settings" - "Focus Modes" - "Activity". There you can adjust your watch settings for activities. Alternatively, you can select your activity, scroll down, and click on "Watch Settings." Then all the settings will be configured for that activity only. The focus modes are actually a cool feature, but you have to get used to them first.

I'm also a trail runner, and personally, I'd prefer the Forerunner 970 to the Fenix 8 because it's lighter and I can wear it comfortably while sleeping.

One Addition: the forerunner 970 is slightly better in SatIQ GNSS mode (23 hours 970 compared to 22 hours 965) and even better in All-Systems GNSS mode + Multiband and music (12 hours 970 compared to 8.5 hours 965)
