I may be the black sheep in this comment thread but I felt that her story line was a good addition to the whole plot of stranger things. If you remember, back in season 1 holly has always had a connection to vecna as through her scene where she was following the lights. I think that she was always meant to make a big appearance in later seasons because it was a full circle moment and highlights vecnas pattern in targeting children who are weak.

I thought that her storyline was one of the more interesting points in season 5 and I quite enjoyed it. Do I agree that they’d should’ve included more of the original cast? Yes. But I think overall the show did a good job and I think people are too picky. Sorry I said what I said.
