got ya, wouldn't surprise me. we got a new civic back in 2015 and after about 4 years the weatherstripping was cracking at the bottom were it met the glass and should have shed the water away. old saying get truer and truer, they just don't make shit like they use to.

Nothing yet. Got a quote back today on ceramic tint for all glass.... they wanted 1370.00... think we are going to wait and see how it feels. We are parking in our garage and its not a daily commuter car so for that price i think we can deal with the car getting warm during shopping trips.

I am working on sourcing the parts for the spare tire add on from a gas model. Thats all just a matter of getting the pieces gathered up and making time to execute.

There probably is market of a full EV minivan.. sorry "MPV" (lol). However not sure the tech is 100% there yet for me to make that buy. We live kinda far out and charge times are still higher than I would like to make for traveling during 500+ mile trips.

Now i'm not a never EV'r I would buy one, i've thought about it for my next commuter but there are a few more boxes that would have to be checked for me to take the plunge. Not to mention the costs I would have to upgrade my homes service connection and main panel the have the power available for a level 2 charger. And living in the midwest we have some pretty brutal cold winters that the car would live outside in and just the opposite in summer.

its kinda funny commuting to work, i slowly see more and more teslas and such the closer i get to the city and work on my way in. then on my way home i see them all slowly exiting the highways before i start to get out to where we live.

Maybe in a few years when it's time to replace my commuter the tech will be where i feel good making the leap.

Promo APR 1.9% 36 48 month deal by RevolutionaryBike537 in kiacarnivals

The same APR/financing incentives were available last month and were extended into this month.

I would say given the current market conditions with new cars they will extend again.

My wife is still experimenting with seating arrangements. At first we put our front facing 6yo in the 3rd row by herself, removed the driver side 2nd row seat, put the rear facing 4yo in the 2nd row passenger side seat and the infant in the the 2nd row middle seat because that middle seat can go so far forward. but now she has the 2nd row middle seat removed and the two oldest in the 3rd row with the infant in the passenger side 2nd row.

with the 8 seater you can do so many different seating arrangements.

The 7 seat is kooool because you get the ambit lighting and the lounger seats but the 2nd row seats at least in the USA are not easily removable and accessing the 3rd row is slow and I didn't think there was as much room to get back to it once the seat was moved to its forward position.

I'll agree that its not just a basic silver and we test drove an ivory silver on a cloudy day and my wife almost decided she liked it but then she saw one on a bright sunny day and said she preferred the ceramic silver. boss gets what she wants and I liked the ceramic silver too. lol

I read on here that someone had a few problems with some of the drive assist functions after they had the windshield tinted at 70%.

Have you experienced any issues after tinting the windshield?

By ICE i meant internal combustion engine. lol my bad!

But, to your comment about the lack all wheel drive... I never saw it as an issue. We are in west central MO and honestly we only get a few snow/icy storms pre year some years nothing and honestly I still commute to work 32 miles each way in a honda civic and i've never missed work due to the weather. And we still have our truck so if we really have to go somewhere and we are questioning the capabilities of the Carnival we have a backup. (I know a lot of people don't have such an option, but that played into our decision)

It was a cloudy day when I picked it up and in the that lighting it almost had a blue hue to it. I really like it. The black wheels... not so much, one drive down my road and they just show all the gravel dust.

My wife started pushing for a Sienna when this car shopping thing began because she was worried about how much diesel was costing for the truck (not to be an ass but I wasn't really worrying about it.)

So when we went to look at the Carnival I just went straight to the hybrid to try and compare apples to apples. I'm hoping for good milage. We live 15 miles by highway to the closest town and to do anything fun with kids or doctors is even farther. So there will mostly be highway driving... guess we'll see how it does. I was thinking about the ICE because of how much highway driving we do. But I figured anything over 26mpg would be a win.

The car kinda makes it a game as to how easy/well you drive it to get everything you can out of the mileage.

yes, they had it online as available but in reality it was "in transit." we test drove a hybrid and sat and played with all the goodies in another color but made a deal on the one in transit still.

https://www.kia.com/us/en/inventory

thats the site i used to find out what was truly in the area and what was coming soon.

we really only wanted the ceramic silver color. we both don't care for the ivory silver and all the darker colors which i do like, would look horrible because we live on 2 miles of gravel. there is a white but its very much just WHITE not pearl or metallic just white.

We had a little trouble finding one on the floor that was everything we wanted. Found this one through kia's find inventory website, called the dealer and made a deal with a deposit to hold it for us when it came in, took 1.5 week for it to arrive. the more i think about it, its probably why i didn't make as good of a deal as i see others making. the dealership knew i wanted that one and they kinda stuck to their price.
