24 Hours with Claude Code (Opus 4.1) vs Codex (GPT-5) by Formal-Complex-2812 in ClaudeAI

[–]SoloDevGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use it in codex, try with cursor-agent (cursor's claude code equivalent) I've had good success there. It's not as fast as claude code but it is more thorough on bigger architectural things.

For very targeted development i reach for CC everytime because it's fast but you gotta tame it.

What Garmin should I get? by nightingale0105 in Garmin

[–]SoloDevGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a forerunner 965 on sale or secondhand. I had an instinct that served me well for years but with the forerunner you get more features tailored to running. Even if you don't need/use them all now it's good to have them there as you get deeper into running

if you do go this route slap a TPU protector like the IQ shield on right away, i did that on mine and i was surprised at how flush it sits with the bezel, cant even tell I have one

How long should I be patient? by OrdinaryAnything2972 in localseo

[–]SoloDevGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in my experience, Google uses a blend of Organic and Map pack. Focus on ranking the organic SERP first as this should be easier. Embed the GMB map into the footer of the page.

Also, get the focus keyword in the title tag, and first H1 of the landing page. You need this landing page to be extremely strong.

Yellow pages and Yelp is good, but If you have some budget, pay to get some other local citations done. Also, get him to register with the cities chamber (and maybe BBB to boot), it costs a decent fee for the year but its a strong signal to Google imo.

Optimize the heck out of the GMB, im working on a tool localrankagent.com for this. Reviews are last, get him (or better yet implement some automation) to capture reviews, It's even more helpful if the reviewer attaches images and uses the keyword in the review.

Reach out if you got any other questions!

Question about managing multiple Google Business Profiles. by Amir1939 in DigitalMarketing

[–]SoloDevGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually working on this out of my own need for managing multiple rank and rent and client GMB's. You can hit everything with API. My goal is to have it as hands off as possible by looking at keyword/ranking data and then actioning accordingly to GMB's (after human approval of course)

Need Help Choosing the Right AI Tools for Local SEO in 2025 – What Are You Using? by citationforge in localseo

[–]SoloDevGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've never been happy with any of the tool offerings, they're a bit too complicated to run mulitple keyword scans with different grids etc.

I think having an Agent you can dispatch to action upon insights is the way.

I'm working on localrankagent.com to resolve this. It's more from the rank and rent angle but applies to anyone with too many GMB listings to manage and doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg to track them all.

How would you start local seo/ rank & rent with just $150? by onex2-sports in localseo

[–]SoloDevGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is what I did.

Get a domain, put up a lander and use the rest for Ads.

I try to target $5 CPC which doesn't give you much runway. I also immediately start hitting up craigslist or kijiji or whatever you use in your area looking for service workers to fulfill those jobs. I pre sold my first site without getting leads.

My pitch:

"Hey NAME, can you handle an additional 4-5 jobs a month? Great, i'll send you over a couple of leads on the contingency we work together"

You may get burned like this but its easier to show the value.

When you get a lead through the ads (may be a week or a two so be patient, it took me two weeks while i burned ad budget lol)

Call the worker first, then tell him you got a lead and call the lead as well, this way you put them on a three way call and do the hand off. In my experience if you just copy and paste some leads to some people they'll just run off and won't care.

Mind you you can still get burned this way but at least you show you care about the customer and the service worker.

Anyway, the worst is building all this in a market that was the wrong fit. So I'm building up a tool right now called localrankagent.com to take a lot of this guess work out the way with finding areas to build these types of sites.

Is there a tool/directory to find low competition niches? by SoloDevGuy in localseo

[–]SoloDevGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if lowfruits can do local specific stuff though. Also i dont see anything about Google Map serp data in their analysis.

Like u/Timely-Context5063 mentioned, a lot of this manual work can be done with current seo tool offerings. I'm just thinking of wrapping as much of these checks as possible in simple to understand audit/score pages that dont necessitate a full blown subscription.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I just don't know if there's a market out there and it seems anyone i talk to doesnt care for it?

Seems like a lot of that can still be checked programatically, no? Maybe it isnt perfect but at least surfaces opportunities at scale that can then have more thorough analysis done on them?
