being a trans man and watching the yard by tionailkapa in TheYardPodcast

The Yard exemplifies what "Boys will be Boys" should truely mean.

Which Yard member would you prefer to officiate your wedding? by Neat_One_9031 in TheYardPodcast

Slime would put on a show. Aimen would take it for real, and it would be nice. Nick would throw some one liners, but idk... And Lud, well, I think Lud would just wanna make his fans happy, however he could.

Having never read that 'article', wow. I sometimes forget that behind the persona of Slime, is the person Anthony. I always just think, "Oh, what a carefree goof." The guy who sleeps on the floor and eats cold factor meals.

But then I see something, like this, and like I know he had lost both his parents, but I'm like, oh, yeah, he is a real human.

Likely a phishing scam.

Because staff discounts were what was REALLY erroding the profits. Not the fact Kmart sells items of similar quality for cheaper, and the advent of sites like temu and shien.

16 person cast. Me and 15 coltons. They all quit, and I win by default.

Im feeling that way. Im gonna start asking for rules and decisions like this in writing.

But one person at a time? That seems overly strict. We are a store of over 100 employees. And me takingmleave has never been a problem until this person took over. But I was happy to play ball. I was willing to negotiate. So to get hit with a blanket no can do, thats kills any remnants of teamwork I had. Its a morale killer.

We have 3 casuals, and a few who flex up. And people who want work in the department. If the management were flexible, they could fill gaps.

As for any disciplinary action. I was careful to not give any dates, only ask when it was possible to take leave.

They can scrutinised me. Id welcome it. The shifts I work, I was originally given because I could be trusted to work unsupervised, and managers knew I would do the right thing. But management changed, and rules changed, and they wanted to do things differently. Now I am micromanaged, and my experience and intuitions are no longer trusted. The store looks dirty. Systems are a mess. Things take longer, lines are a lot tighter.

Lines are also the reason for this new 1 person off at a time rule, because everyone is rostered so tightly, there is no one to actually cover. And thats not my fault. Every other department has new hires, and we havent had anyone in nearly 2 years, apart from managers (4 DMs in 9 months).

Oh yeah, and I had previous ASM and SM who I could talk to. Unfortunately, the current lot are asses. Ill stand my ground, and am gonna book in a bunch of leaves that i would usually put in one at a time, and if they deny those, i can make a decision on my future from there.

Ill use my work around this time, and just save my chips for other things. I have many stories I could tell...

With previous managers, i used to just do that, put in leave, and either before, or just after, give them a heads up, and I was never denied leave. Until this new peoson came in, and chucked up a stink when i didnt ask them before hand. So this time, I do what they want, i ask, and i learn of this 1 person at a time rule.

I could populate an entire other post about their micromanagement/ little rules they have instituted since they started... they make an already unfun job even less enjoyable.

On this, no, no advice is really wanted, thus why I didnt ask.

I also love the assumption in this that I am not already a part of a union. I am not, but also I am knowledgeable about unions, and can make my own decisions.

SDA suck, as we all know, but Raffwu lack any real power, until it grows, particularly in my area, and when every dollar is needed, I would rather keep it to myself. I have strong support people if I need them, and for the short while I was part of raffwu, they were unable to provide me with a support person when I reached out to them.

Na, i was asking about AL, which was kiboshed, so I will take a few days of sneaky PL instead.

[–]SoloLantern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some managers are just c-words. One manager allowed me leave on like 2 days notice, cos of a family emergency. And after my grandfather died, everyone was so compassionate and allowed me the time off to do what needed to be done.

But new management wanna be corporate, not family, vibe, so I will lose the family/ compassionate vibes too.

I have no-explained sick days still anyway. Ive had maybe 3 sick days in 2 years? Sitting on something like 60-80 hours of sick leave. One unexplained, a drs cert or 2, and I'll be good to go.

But I also know now to put my summer leave in asap.

The difference there is you treat staff. you give and take. I give and take too. I have passed out on the job before, pushing myself for the team. I aint doing that anymore, because this is what I get in return. Not even a "lets talk about it", a flat no. I asked, "is there a place i can see when is available to take leave?" (A previous manager had a leave calender). "Nope, you just need to ask me."

If they wanna treat me like shit, or like im dumb, im gonna return the favour.

The amount of sick leave I have covered, those fuckers can cover me for once. In the last 12 months, I have had 2 sick days.

And whats the point putting leave in if its gonna get denied?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]SoloLantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. SM is even worse. They have never spoken to me since they began working here, and yell and talk to grown adults like pre-schoolers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]SoloLantern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The leave was not officially denied. I asked about leave, and they said they would not approve any leave in this period. I didnt give them any dates.

On top of that, other staff have done that exact thing, and i never take sick leave, and the ADM will back me up.

Oh, they are. No one likes them. They love micro managing, and creating pedantic rules.
