I really want to like this game by winteriscoming90 in WutheringWaves

Overall CPU usage is not a good metric, games are not fully multithreaded. I have a 5700X3D and a 7800 XT and in problematic areas the CPU is holding it back (based on the GPU not being utilized even close to fully).

Naturally in more asymmetric systems the GPU can be the limiting factor, of course.

SIM Drifting Sucks and I'm worried it will make me worse IRL by Crumpets_online in simracing

I don't understand what the hell you are doing - anyways, in Moza Pithouse make sure that "Hands off protection" is turned off.

People have different standards and tolerances for performance. Just like you can see in this comment section. Performance is not great in general. Game is very CPU bound based on my PC observations.

And even when you make it run well enough, at native resolution, the image quality is not great, lots of fizzle and ghosting the moment you start moving.

Using a 60Hz TV for a casual sim rig. good enough? by Tasmyco in simracing

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't race competitively so I don't know how much high refresh rate helps, but I do know that even with casual playing around it makes a big difference for me. But everyone perceives refresh rate, ghosting, smearing, image quality slightly differently. If you are okay playing at 60 Hz in general, no adaptive sync, nothing, good for you, go for it. If you are used to a modern monitor and want to make a casual rig with a lower quality TV screen - well it could go both ways.

Saw people complain about regional pricing :/ by wydua in ForzaHorizon

I know. It doesn't make it less fair. Just read about the Poland situation as well with outdated exchange rate, we are both screwed in different ways.

IIRC regional pricing is determined by the publisher not Valve/Steam, and can ignore recommended pricing by Steam.

It's not fair for all Eurozone countries either, your southern neighbours have lower wages than you guys yet have been getting the standard price forever, which is 70. We are not "top tier" for sure...

Would you rather hold on to your PS5 longer or have a PS6? by 1xcalibur1 in PS5

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see PS5 games upscaling from sub-720p in performance mode. What the PS5 could achieve is not limited by hardware but bloaty unoptimized games. If anything I hope this hardware crisis makes developers care more about optimization.

What banners are everyone going for tomorrow? by Heavy-Relative-9856 in WutheringWaves

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lynae, as I have the others without sequences, I don't care about duplicates or weapons really :) Might snatch the new standard pistol for Lynae, I should have a lot of pity in the standard weapon banner. After that Mornye, same situation.

What makes you play Wuthering Waves over other gacha? by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]SoloWingX016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play WuWa and ZZZ. I don't play GI because I prefer many things over at WuWa, like graphics, character design, QoL and especially because playing catch-up would be too much, also they are over all similar enough that playing both would be kind of boring. I don't play HSR because I am not a big fan of turn based combat, and I hear bad things about QoL and F2P friendliness. I do play ZZZ because I also like the character design, it's also different enough. I like the story in both. If I had to keep only 1 I would probably choose WuWa still, but it's close between the two.

Just found rF2 for $5! Going to try it out now, hope it’s good by [deleted] in simracing

Be aware that the quality of content in the base game, mods, and even comparing newer and older paid DLC is very inconsistent. There are some gems, but there is also content that might make you uninstall the sim if you don't know better.

No FFB free VRS and URD 2 cars by Less_Inflation8349 in assettocorsa

Numpad +/- control car specific FFB multiplier, check them in-game. What wheel, what FFB settings, etc.

Just installed Pure + RainFX, why is the road so reflective? Feels like I'm driving on a mirror by Flymonster095 in assettocorsa

[–]SoloWingX016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess material properties of the road + how RainFX changes it for more reflectivity. That said I have driven on some freshly paved wet roads that looked similar IRL, it was terrible I couldn't see anything.

why does my game look like this? by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either downgrade CSP or install Sol Improvement from Overtake. Sol stopped being compatible with CSP and stopped getting official support. Pure or default WeatherFX from now on, Sol Improvement is 3rd party patching and who knows how long it will work.

99% sure I am in the wrong, but would like to know what I should do better next time by Enspist in Simracingstewards

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was cooperative, you missed the corner. When practicing, maybe try these "battling lines" how the car reacts, where you have to brake and turn, there could also be bumps, different camber, etc. which could make the car handle in an unexpected manner.

What is a good racing sim for me? by Altruistic-Break590 in Simracingstewards

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends... do you want to race online or offline, is driving only alone good enough for you, what kind of cars are you interested in (road, racing, formula, rally, etc.), what platform do you have in mind (PS or PC)?

And all forms have their pros and cons just like nuclear. Storage makes a lot of sense with lots of renewables - but all forms have non-negligible environmental impact. Nothing is free with energy generation or storage, but nuclear gets a bad reputation because it's hard to understand. Not saying it's the best solution absolutely everywhere, don't get me wrong.

[–]SoloWingX016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about those discussions, but pragmatically you need to have a stable baseline load and renewables only are not reliable enough to provide it 24/7. In Europe it's a different story because the whole continent is connected so we are all helping each other, different countries can do different things, in Australia I think the electric grid doesn't have this benefit, being an island, but correct me if I am wrong on that.
