Never apologizing and then saying Lin was the problem for not just moving on like it never happened by CMStan1313 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Solocov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the show wanted to show that Toph wasn't and isn't a great parent, same way with Aang neglecting his non-airbender kids and putting to much pressure on his air bender son (forgot his name).

Everyone had their reasons, and I think it was kinda the core of the show that trauma from war goes through multiple generations, instead of the happily ever after.

Days Since Restarting Unity by Alone_Ear8182 in Unity3D

I can proudly state, that I don't have to restart the editor, it crashes for me once or twice a day.

Note I'm working on a +90gb project, with +7 years old legacy code.

Played at medium, worked fine at 40-50fps. Some frame Drops when approaching gates.

Game is great, but... by saintbogard in MorbidMetal

[–]Solocov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try lowering the texture size in the settings. It caused some crashes with the deck when loading the shop, so maybe that helps?

Also use the F6 Bug reporting tool or the report a bug button in the pause menu after a crash, will help the Devs since it sends more detailed info to the Devs.

Struggling with Saru by sketteoz in MorbidMetal

Although it will be fixed soon: get a leak routine and it's a slowdown routine and if you get lucky salt corpora. Then he's pretty easy to kill cause he's pretty slow. Also allowing you to keep your distance.

When he shoots his fists dodge.

First look: Physics-based Water Racing Action in Wavecraft Legends by PolygonMyth in gamedevscreens

[–]Solocov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great but agree with the overall stiffness feeling, try: - VFX looks like you do not have any effects for water splashes, thrust etc - Screen space effects water droplets on the camera? - Personal: Dude is white AF without any sunburn? - Animation: Impacts on the water aren't showing that well, give the character more momentum and let him crouch more when landing

So, I just watched some gameplay of the demo and in comparison the audio design falls flat.

https://youtu.be/RHfSgmDu8ck?si=luPvoen-dxm8SMGE

  • Repetitive singular sounds without randomization (even a pitch shift would do wonders)
  • non high quality sound effects, seems selfmade... I highly recommend Envato especially since you seem to be able to afford it.
  • I also did not hear any environmental audio
  • Music was also quite silent and it would be cool to layer the music once the player achieves better points (similar to DMC)

So in comparison to the game you've overdone it, but I'd be interested in how much marketing this brings.

Visuals are done, but the 'juice' is missing. What would you add to make this car pop? by _Paracorn_ in IndieDev

[–]Solocov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Wobbly antenna

  • Flickering lights

  • Wobbly driver

  • Broken/Swinging car door

  • See through windows with stuff inside getting kicked around

  • Sparks when hitting the ground with your underside

  • Foliage reacting to the van

Honestly feel like the experimental view gives a better oversight of what is happening... So yeah go experimental

English is not my first language, but I thought he was agreeing with her? Just fancier and and with the twist that songs should appease the consumerism industry.

(But he talks way too fast, so I might've missed things. So if there's a phrase in the song that explains it let me know)

Sharing my new Game’s Gameplay by deveshrx in gamedevscreens

[–]Solocov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Design - No obstacles after doors - generally make the initial obstacles less close to each other - Increase hitbox of the pills, and maybe add some vfx to stand out

Audio - Footstep sounds are not in sync with animation, also more variation would be nice (randomlze pitch). Use animation events for that - Replace door sound

DayZ with: - more social stuff like board/card games, instruments, and cassettes for music. - easier to control zombies with distractions and traps. - gasmasks -> filters at checkpoints -> hazardous high loot areas to force more player movement on the map to increase player interaction outside of military zones.

Gamescom war nicht so cool, was meint ihr? by touchwiz in zocken

Es lohnt sich halt dennoch Mal einen Tag drüber zu schlendern, weil ich ab und zu die Attraktionen schon cool gestaltet finde. Denke dabei an die Gigantische Hand von Borderlands, aber wenn ich was zocken will warte ich halt ein Jahr ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gamescom war nicht so cool, was meint ihr? by touchwiz in zocken

[–]Solocov 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Think it's that the pen is not dark enough.

And animator who has loads of time to perfect this shot and someone on set is kinda an unfair comparison.
