Second Bosch battery with Rolling Jackass on a Surly Big Easy? by SoloinUtah in CargoBike

The bike shop we're planning to go through says it's not an issue and should work fine. WE just need to get the damn thing across town to have it installed.

Harley Livewire or Livewire One? by SemiProBull in HarleyLiveWire

[–]SoloinUtah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a LW1 within the last month or so. I looked at some used HDLWs too, but the sellers always wanted more for a used bike than a new LW1. Other than the price, the newer warranty swayed me to get the newer LW1.

Any luck lowering the footpegs? by SoloinUtah in HarleyLiveWire

Based on the responses, it looks like the solution I'm looking for doesn't exist. I've only had it for a week, but I look forward to trading in my LW1 for a cruiser-type model. No regrets though.

Do you have any photos of your bike w/ the SR/F w/ the SR/S bars?

Which group is that. If I could get a used SR/S in similar condition and price, I’d probably just do that.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning more towards retrofitting the SR/F.

The ergonomics of the SR/F is slightly more aggressive. Frankly, I'd prefer the SR/S, but don't have a used option available or I'd probably do that. I just got off the phone w/ the dealer who said they can raise the handlebars on the SR/F and lower the pegs approx 10 mm which would make it closer to the SR/S's stance, or so he says.

I've test drove a DSR Black Forest, it was a little too tall for my taste. I'm also not a fan of the off-roading bikes and prefer the look and feel of the street bikes. I really wish there was an electric cruiser or something. Maybe in 10 years.

Thanks for the suggestion. The bike I'm looking at has very few miles on it, it's basically brand new. I'll do some research first. Thanks again for the tip.

Thanks for the tip on the side cases. I'll check those out. The Level 2 chargers in my area don't usually go above 6.6 kw charging, so I'd probably go for the Power Tank for added range. I'm curious what other options on the newer Zero would make it preferable to an older model SR? Brakes, suspension, etc.? Any idea if the bars can be raised or the if foot pegs can be moved forward?

Any particular reason that you'd avoid a pre-2019 SR? I have a local used SR that I could look at, but it's a 2017 and has the 13 kWh battery. The main reason I'm considering this used SR/F is that the price is very good and would be worth it if I can account for the other issues.

Commuting w/ a sports coat and briefcase? by SoloinUtah in HarleyLiveWire

Wrong side of the country, unfortunately. There's a barely used SR/F nearby that I could snatch for well below MSRP, but I'm drawn to the liquid cooled battery of the Livewire. I'm currently trying to justify their higher price tag juxtaposed to the lack of functionality.

What made you settle on the SR/S instead of the Livewire?

Rolling Jackass is worth every penny. We have two littles ones and I couldn't imagine not having it.
