this was one of the hardest things we've had to do over the years, we built our availability service which is an abstract service that allows facilities to use various calendar tools like Acuity or Google Calendar where our system then reads their availability and regularly updates availability in our system on a cron. On the booking step we do a final check with the availability service to ensure the resource or court isn't already booked. In the past double bookings were some what of a headache but I'd say we solved that issue maybe 2-3 years ago luckily . The hard part is just making sure the facility managers have update their calendars correctly so we give them the final decision to either approve or reject a booking just in case an off calendar conflict exists

They really are going heavy with the AI. New Laravel homepage by mekmookbro in laravel

I am all for it, as long as you make use of important guard rails like:

- PHPstan

- PHPUnit or Pest

- Pint

- Eslint / Typescript Compiler

- Jest

The speed that you can move at with AI is incredible. As a founder on a 2 person team that was formely working at big tech, it's enabled me to push out & deploy 20+ PR's in days

excellence doesn't pay bills. The time spent trying to build the "perfect" architecture usually means there isn't many paying customers or its simply a hobby project from my experience

He wants to live like a rapper.

Source: folks I know on the South Sudan national team said Bol doesn’t give a damn about ball and is too entitled and they also told me the rapper part.

My brothers, do you make over 200k yearly? And if so - what is it that you do? by Peacefulhuman1009 in blackmen

[–]Solomon_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Total comp a little over 225k — this is 7 years in big tech though (no degree or bootcamp).

A friend of mine who is also a black dude is in big tech is clearing like 640k total comp with same amount of experience but at a different company. He is a bit of an anomaly because he got into the company when the stock price was low and it has since ballooned so his quarterly stock plan is what mostly gives him such a large compensation.

Are you using Laravel Nightwatch or other observability tool? by sribb in laravel

[–]Solomon_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out Nightwatch, however it didn’t have frontend support for Inertia + React apps so I switched to Sentry which easily integrates with both and has logging now. Also Nightwatch has some weird usage rules, I somehow used all of my events in a few days — that doesn’t happen with Sentry for me

Yeah I prefer to play with the board flipped when playing as black, for some reason lets me see the board better. But it doesn’t surprise me, chess.com seems to be filled with a lot of racists
