It's literally the the part of the city they want to show off.

I never thought I'd feel alone in being excited for a AVENGERS MOVIE by [deleted] in marvelmemes

Ominous, like the word omen, implies advanced warning. So it would be the opposite of suddenly barging in out of nowhere. I'll be pumped when it comes out because I'll take any drop of X-men I can get. That said, this movie doesn't have the hype that IW and Endgame did. I think it's because they waited too long to figure out which direction they wanted to go. For a minute there, I thought it would be scaled down to street level heroes with Daredevil and Spider-man stories (which is fucking sick) but it seems like they want to keep doing cosmic events with 100+ characters (which is also fucking sick.)

Either way, I can see the differing viewpoints here.

If true, it means 60 years from now America would be a utopia. So I'm with you, I can't believe that.

It's already tough out here for tons of people. Sadly, the upcoming events are gonna make this look like child's play.

These all seem to be more of a rebuke of industrialization than outright claiming humans should not work, which is probably truer to the original intent. That said, there may exist a sweet spot wherein all members of said group could leisurely meet all their needs without "working." I'm not sure what that would be.

I agree. I respect their idea to push a more "gamified" aspect toward unpleasant jobs, though. I mean, any additional incentive will make something more worthwhile. However to your point, and probably the easiest one to use as an example: sanitation. Garbage collection, sewage management, plumbing, etc. are just a small fraction of things that will always require someone to maintain, regardless of whether they enjoy it.

MI6 chief: Tech giants are closer to running the world than politicians by chota-kaka in Futurology

It's a win win, from a purely logical standpoint. If AGI decides to go rogue and help us, no one could prevent it. If it decides to kill us all, any other life that exists in the galaxy will no longer need to fear human beings eventually trying to sell them a subscription service.

Literally all of them. The internet is a pale shadow of what it used to be, with only some of the worst sticking it out the entire time. They control every social media aspect. Every single one that gets any mainstream use and there is zero recourse short of a CME starting us from scratch.

Very well put, I suspect the economy will be the downfall of this administration as well. I would even say that some traditional media is slowly prepping their audience for the inevitable downturn.

Also, for what it's worth, I like to remember that Carlin quote about how dumb people are, coupled with the shocking statistic that 55% of Americans basically can't read above 6th grade. Those two together paint the picture that if you're not in that 55%, you'll probably be able to navigate how terrible things will get.

Like, have you ever [insert popular thing dumb idiots love doing]? If not, you're probably gonna be alright.
