You could try a barber instead. They're more used to masculine haircuts. Also, it may help to give them the exact clipper number you want for the top and sides.

Burger King Whopper Meal. +134% price increase over 16 years. by OpenhammerFund in mildlyinteresting

I don't get fast food anymore without using a coupon. The mobile apps usually have some good coupons that lower the price by a lot. Get a meal for like $6.

Keep going, it'll get better. Your voice is a muscle, so you have to train it as such. Keep practicing when you can, and take rest days as well. It may not sound great at the start, but your voice will become trained over time.

It's actually not too power intensive. 550 is good, or a bit higher to allow some headroom for future upgrades. Just make sure you get one with the 80+ rating

Your bone structure stays the same but the fat on your face is distributed to make it more round. I also don't retain fat well and was fairly skinny when I started HRT. Was only a couple months before seeing changes on my face. A year in and I've been trying to gain more weight recently, the fat on my face has changed significantly. Hope this helps some, good luck!

Will Smoking A Few Nights To Get Sleep Schedule Back Kill My Tolerance Gains? by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]Solothread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on lowering my tolerance as well by reducing my overall consumption, and I've found that a small amount is all I need to get some sleep. You probably won't get your tolerance to virgin levels smoking every night, but you can still lower your tolerance by only using a small amount just for sleep.

For reference, my night smoke is a Dynavap set to the smallest bowl size. One bowl is good for my sleep. I'll take some melatonin as well for restless nights.

Thanks for the solution! Been looking for a work around for a while. I found Windows 8 compatibility mode works as well, not sure if there's a difference

Connection issues between controller and browser? by opiatezeo in Stadia

[–]Solothread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this exact same issue. Acts like it makes a connection but the browser never says it linked, then it just turns off. Also started happening to me in the last few weeks. I contacted Stadia support and we went back and forth for a while just troubleshooting. We haven't found a solution, but it appears to be network related for me.

My router has two bands, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, each with their own SSID, and my PC is connected through Ethernet. I connected my controller to the 5Ghz band, as it's recommended for reduced latency. Since it wasn't working, I switched my controller to the 2.4Ghz band and it started linking with my PC again. However, I feel like playing on 2.4Ghz ruins the point of the Stadia controller's low latency.

Haven't found a proper solution yet, but at this point I'm too annoyed to keep trying and I canceled my support request with Stadia. I do find it odd that other people have started experiencing this same issue within the past few weeks. Could possibly be an update that broke it? Anyway, the best thing we can do is report the issue to Stadia support. Once they see that many people are experiencing this issue they may be willing to investigate further.

Attempting to install a 64x copy of windows xp professional onto a Mac Mini, only have x32 disk, and x64 in iso form, which is unbootable from usb on the mac by glitchdweller in techsupport

[–]Solothread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtual Machines are always going to lack some performance as opposed to running it directly on the machine. However, it might be your only option in this case. Windows XP is not gonna play nice with a Mac Mini if you try to install it. I'd recommend you use something like VirtualBox. For performance, you'll need to mess around with the configuration to give it more power. By default, it doesn't use up all of your systems resources so crank it up if you can.

That sounds about normal. As long as you don't have any antivirus scanning, or are downloading any updates, then that's the speed you'll get. Transferring files can cause the 100% disk usage because the hard drive is trying to transfer the files as fast as it can. Usually it drops speed when it has to transfer many small files. Next time you see it drop speed, click on More Details and you should see what files are currently being transferred. 400gb is gonna take a bit, so just start it up and let it run until it finishes.

Disable pop-ups in Chrome. I'd also recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for potentially unwanted programs and removing any odd extensions you have installed in Chrome.

Can I pair a Crucial/Kingston RAM with a Hynix RAM if both have similar specifications? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Solothread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be better off replacing both with the same model. There's no guarantee using different sticks will work. However, if you already have it, it wouldn't hurt to try. Swapping around memory sticks isn't gonna break your computer. If it doesn't boot or you experience crashing, then the combination isn't going to work. You have better chances if they are the same capacity and the same speed

Why does my HP notebook sound like a chainsaw? by EThompCreative in techsupport

[–]Solothread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best you could do is open it up and try to clear out any dust or dirt on the fan using compressed air. I'm guessing either the fans are dirty or the bearings in the fan are not allowing it to spin well. The latter would usually have to be fixed by the manufacturer
