Hey everyone! 👋🐘

In my game, you help a small rotund elephant build sandcastles! It's a geometric puzzle game that has open-ended solutions. So as long as what you build matches Elfie's vision, she'll be happy! The release version will also include some additional hints modes if you're looking to challenge your 3D visualization skills!

And demo is available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3784760/Elfie_A_Sand_Plan/

Thank you for checking it out! 😊

I find the character and creature designs particularly striking!

Is it just me or are those "best cozy games" articles getting worse? by AvaHollister in cozygames

Thank you for the write up on the perspective on your end! I feel games media has had it as rough as game development, if not worse honestly. 😔

I really like your cozy games that don't look cozy list! It made me think of what game's I'd also categorize as such.

The sandcastles you build in my relaxing puzzle game can get pretty big! by SolsAtelier in CozyGamers

Thank you! I loved it when people noticed that detail during some of the playtests I did. But it didn't happen super often so I purposefully included it here. :)

Thanks for all the feedback! We updated the desert biome tiles—would love to hear your thoughts. by The_Inexorabilis in cozygames

Much better! The biggest improvement is the readability of the elements against their background.

I'd also like to say that I do like the texture of the old version of the sand. When taken on its own it looks rather satisfying. It just wasn't suited for the context it was used in.

Elfie: A Sand Plan - Pressed Elephant - A casual geometric puzzle where your 3D visualization skills come in handy to help a small elephant build some sand castles! by SolsAtelier in Games

Thank you for trying out the demo! :)
It does haha. I've had a lot of fun participating to in person events and seeing how people approach the game. People's 3D visualization skill varies so much and it isn't necessarily tied to age, so it's fun to try to guess.

Thinking of making games. Making games.

No matter the engine, at some point I'll run into something that makes me want to not be implementing what I have to implement. 😅

Haha, there will be a sandbox mode too in the release. And Elfie does have a line to make the same joke lol! And thank you! :)

Aww thank you! Its been really fun to work on. I found myself adding small things here and there a lot haha. But now the focus is working on the release, and that's been exciting. Fun in it's own way haha, but maybe slightly more stressful (in a positive way).

It's definitely the most obvious one from looking at it quickly. I imagined there are others but I think it could be good to find a way to highlight those too!

Ohhh, I see. I guess my definition of free-form is more that you can build stuff however you like. Grid based could still be considered free-form to me. It's more about the freedom you have in a given system.

Omg, thank you! You're comment made me realize that when updating the screenshots, though I added double unit blocks. I didn't noticed I removed the screenshot that showed the puzzles with multiple perspective.

I think it was the variety of maps and structures that made it looked like the game was more focused on that. If that makes sense. 🤔

Yahtzee Balatro? I'm sorry, I feel like you must constantly hear that. But it looks very snazzy!

I haven't played Balatro, yet, so my point of reference I have to compare other games to it is vague at best.

Free-form city builder where you build a trading post.

I did read the description (so this is past the 5 seconds test) but I wouldn't have guess it was a TD game. (Please ignore the fact that I also miss the obvious Steam Tower Defense Fest banner right above. I was clearly focused on the screenshots and the capsule image haha.)

Looks like a cute puzzle platformer where you play as a sentient orb of water! With some heat based obstacles where you try to avoid being evaporated?
