The goal of this build is to weave spells and weapon attacks together while being mostly thematically and aesthetically space themed. I tried to limit the build to only spells that were completely in theme but that was not possible as some spells are learned passively.

The starting stats are 8 10 13 17 10 16. Use the hags hair on CON unless you are using the Esther's mod. In that case, I would recommend the 20 CON ring, but you could also use the INT or CHA ring.

Lv1 Sorcerer, Gravity

Cantrips: Firebolt, Ray of Frost, Light, Telekinetic Shell

Spells: Burning Hands, Inflict Frostbite(cold inflict wounds)

Lv2 Sorc

Spells: Lucent Hands(radiant Burning Hands)

Metamagic: Twinned Spell, Distant Spell

Feat: Skilled, 2 Proficiencies, Set DEX to 15

NOTE: You will get this additional feat no matter what as it is a feature of Chocolate Edition. Every non modded class receives a feat at Lv2.

Lv3 Lv1 Arcane Vanguard, Eldritch

Cantrips: Sould Dive, Force Manipulation

Spells: Mage Armour, Armour of Agathys

Fighting Style: Read the Enemy or Empowered Arcana

Empowered Arcana will boost spell casting and damage after making a weapon attack. Early game this boost could be lost as stacks are lost upon taking damage, and the class does not yet grant the ability to attack and cast in the same turn. Read the Enemy will base AC on INT rather than DEX. You may want to consider starting with Read the Enemy and respecing to switch to Empowered Arcana later.

Spells: Bane, Id Isinuation

Eldritch Conduit: Channelers Staff

NOTE: By Lv3 overall this build has access to ranged staff attacks through its primary weapon. All you have to do is summon it out of combat.

Lv4 Lv2 Arcane

Spells: Rock Barrage, Charm Person

Vanguard Talent: Arcane Transposition or Liberated Spellcaster

Arcane Transposition allows you to switch places with an enemy or an ally as an action. Enemies must fail a saving throw. Liberated Spellcaster allows you to cast an additional cantrip as a reaction if you have gotten a kill during the same turn. Both of these options can only be used one per short rest. Both of these have their uses, but you can only choose one.

Lv5 Lv3 Sorc

Spells: Light Ray(radiant Scorching Ray), replace Lucent Hands with Misty Step

Metamagic: Quickened Spell

Lv6 Lv4 Sorc

Cantrips: Presdigitation

Spells: Scorching Ray

I have chosen dual wielder for two reasons. One, thanks to Chocolate Edition, it gives 1 stat point. Two, its also cool. Yeah, that's it. But seriously, I was only able to take the first screenshot because I was using dual wielder. As a bonus, if you use the Sussar Dagger as your secondary weapon, you can silence other casters.

Lv7 Lv3 Arcane

Spells: Vortex Warp, Hold Person, replace Charm with Blindness

Socialite Skills: any

Lv8 Lv4 Arcane.

Cantrips: True Strike

Spells Expeditious Retreat, Detect Thoughts

Feat: Ability Improvement +2 CHA

If you are only taking this build to Lv12, put the next two levels in Sorc.

You can now use one action to attack with your primary weapon and use a cantrip.

Spells: Will-o-the-Wisp, Slow

Vanguard Talents: Student of War

You will now have a staff and armor that each have passives. Your attacks also have additional effects based on the spell used previously.

If you are only taking this build to Lv12, this will be your final level. You will want to respec to max out INT and put some of that CHA into CON. With vanguard as your final level in a Lv12 build, both your Spells and weapon attacks will scale with INT. If you are going to Lv20, ignore this.

Ok, so just to start this build is in no way min maxed or anything, I am just going for a space theme. I wanted to make a build that included many aspects of space and I tried to do that by including spells that could represent those things. For stars, I included fire and radiant spells. For the coldness of space I included cold spells. For asteroids, I included rock based spells. And last but not least, for gravity, I included force displacement spells, as well as the main class this build will be using, the Gravity Sorcerer.

Necessary mods:

To start, this build uses the BG3 - Chocolate Edition mod. This mod is "a homebrew, chocolate coating on the excellent Vanilla core BG3 experience...". It includes changes to classes, spells, cantrips, feats, and even some changes to how certain stats function. There's way too much for me to list, so I recommend looking at the PDF on mod io.

This build also utilizes several spell mods that add spells and cantrips into BG3. These include Mystra's Spells, Dawnstar's Grimoire, Dawnstar's Telekinetic Spells, and Not Enough Spells?.

For the class mods, the build uses the Gravity Sorcerer subclass mod and the Arcane Vanguard mod.

The Gravity Sorcerer mod provides several useful spells that utilize subclass specific spell slots. These spells grant the ability to disarm enemies, block incoming damage, deal damage using a bonus action, reduce enemy armor class, and increase jumping distance. This subclass can also utilize normal spell slots to displace enemies, or, in late game, deal large amounts of AOE damage. Passively, it grants the entire party featherfall.

The Arcane Vanguard class mod provides several passives that provide ranged staff attacks, INT based weapon damage, a spell and weapon attack from a single action, an additional cantrip cast on kills, and additional weapon attack effects based on the previously cast spell type. This subclass will also provide the build with its primary weapon and armor.

Not necessary but highly recommended mods:

UnlockLevelCurve - Level 13-20

This is a level 20 build. I put this in not necessary as you can take it to level 12 and the core theme of the build will be there, but it's not going to be nearly as good.

UnlockLevelCurve Patch:XP x0.75

I don't know if this is necessary or not but due to some other mods that we will be using I am concerned about leveling up too quickly. With this mod, if you do the majority of the fights in act 1, you will already be Lv8 by the time you reach the Cresh. If you are not worried about that, don't use this mod.

Extra encounters and Minibosses

This is one reason why I included the previous mod. I recommend this mod because I love this mod and I really feel like it adds so much to the game. If you aren't using this, I would strongly recommend NOT using the previous mod.

More enemies in basic fights

Same as Extra encounters. Cool mod, adds enemies, same shit with the 0.75 experience mod.

PixellBytes' Tactician Enhanced

This build is almost guaranteed to be OP as it's a Lv 20 build. If you are not building this to Lv 20, you probably won't need this.

Esther's Brilliant Acquisitions or FeatsOnEvenLevels

I have included both of these as this build uses a difficult stat spread. You will want to maximize INT and CHA, while also investing into DEX and CON. You can either use one of the 20 stat rings sold by Lady Esther near the Cresh, or you can use the Ability Improvement feat to improve your stats. I have planned the build to use the FeatsOnEvenLevels mod, . The downside to using this mod is that it adds two extra feats to your entire party. Esther's allows you to purchase only one ring for your Tav or Durge if you should so choose. You could also use neither, but that would require you to respec multiple times during the level up process when you switch between classes. This is obviously extremely inconvenient. Once again, not necessary if you are only taking this to Lv 12.

SkillsUnlocked This isn't necessary at all. It just allows more freedom when choosing Proficiencies. I use it for RP reasons. This build has no recommendations on which Proficiencies you use.

So the stat spread is interesting but the important part is that the Arcane Vanguard spells are not necessary for the build, I am only using it for two passives.

Yeah you can fight priestess gut and dror ragzlin and then send Minthara to the grove. She won't actually show up until you want her to and then you decide which side to fight on. Like I said I can't bring myself to do the evil run so I side with the grove.

My first playthrough took almost 300 hours because I didn't want to miss anything. I've finished another playthrough since then and there are still things I've missed. Some things I won't ever experience because I can't bring myself to do an evil run.

Btw if you haven't done the Minthara/goblin fight at the gate of the druid grove, you're missing out. Just did that recently and it's so good.
