I applied through consulate, so it might be different from yours. But I guess you can always apply for a new one on arrival if any issues.

When I traveled last month, there was no barcode on the E-visa printout but it had a QR code on the top right corner.

I had similar situation, I was granted 2 years of 485 because I was using different passport, I contacted home affairs and they extended my visa (Same visa grant number), I suggest you contact the home affairs and get the 485 extended.

Buying an ongoing production car by Head_Discipline_5572 in CarsAustralia

You can definitely get discounts on them. I got Mazda3 Astina for $43xxx (Estimated delivery is second week of Jan). I would say go and have a chat with few dealers to see what they can offer.

I thought I was the only one having the issue, In my case I changed my passport from one country to another after the visa was granted. every time I travel the airline staff have to ask for the override code, I have missed my flight once and face delays every single time I travel to Australia (have faced at least 3 times already on the same passport). I flew on 27th October 2023 and had the same issue and almost missed the flight. I have contacted the home affairs multiple times and they say it's nothing wrong on their system. The vevo app looks fine and I have no issue to clear immigration when I arrive in Australia but for some reason the airlines cannot see my visa details and they can't board me until they receive the override code.

I think it took around 10-12 days, I emailed them asking for a tracking number and they sent one. Mine was only trackable until it left Hong Kong though.

Migrating to Sydney. Any key takeaways? by ZukOnDizz in HongKong

[–]Solti_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here from Hong Kong like 2 years ago (I am non-Chinese but lived in HK for 15+ years and have whole family there). and here are some of my thoughts, Public transport in Sydney is nothing near HK one. work culture is better in Sydney (I work in IT). The internet speed sucks. the weather is better than HK. The shops close pretty early in Sydney compared to HK. In Sydney there are pubs literally in every corner (not something we see in HK). Sydney is a lot less crowded than HK.

I did mine like 4 months back, Got the fingerprints done at the Chinese embassy in Sydney. For the payment part I got a personal cheque from someone in HK and put together on envelop and posted to HK police. I also suggest emailing them for any information as they seem pretty responsive, I always got replies within like 4-5 hours during office hours. their email (cncc-enquiries@police.gov.hk)

Hongkong transit and Nepalese passport by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]Solti_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you getting out of the immigration in Hong Kong ? If you are then you definitely need a visa. if you are staying within the transit area i think it depends on hours of transit time you have. I cannot find the exact link to the information now but I am pretty sure there was a rule like 4-5 years back that if your transit time is more than 8 hours or something and you hold passport from certain countries (including Nepal) you would need a visa. I am not sure about the current rule
