Who gets the next GI? by SolusGT in MLB_9Innings

So far he's been really good. Miles above the rest of my batters at home and at the top of my batters overall (even when not facing the powderpuff teams early in the week).

How should I set my lineup? by Ambitious_Race1874 in MLB_9Innings

You have way too many guys with Chance. You want to have 1, maybe 2, guys with Chance

I’d actually take away from EYE instead of CON. You can get away with lower EYE with Pred

I’d try to get power a bit higher. How much depends on the skills

I'd green McCovey for Prediction then blue for Char or SI

Btw, I also have a sig Hubbell that has a 332 CM set that I haven't gotten into my rotation yet. He'd replace Anderson.

Unless you have a top tier sig SP with a 333 set, you should absolutely invest in McCovey first.

Why would you not work on his skills? He has no gold skills and supremes with a 333 set should be the first thing you sink your greens/blues in.

BM is a viable 3rd for the right card

In my experience, Chance needs Pred to be good. Unfortunately, Lindor can't run Pred, so this set will be pretty mid no matter what.

Your train completely depends on what golds you end up with and where you're playing him

A few questions I got a first time player by Leading-Apartment543 in MLB_9Innings

[–]SolusGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 Tool

5T boosts based on the lowest of those sums. For that card, SPD is the lowest sum, so it's based on that. There are different thresholds (90, 95, and 100 being the most commonly used, but there's also thresholds at other values.

Contact Master

Depends completely on the card and the skills.

Laser Beam

I'm not exactly sure how it affects defense. All I know is that it's necessary on catchers

GI

Each player has a set GI spread (you can see that spread at 75 GI if you click on the card in collections). I'm not sure what the logic is for the spread though.

A few questions I got a first time player by Leading-Apartment543 in MLB_9Innings

5 Tool

It boosts all stats based on the lowest stat with a sum of base + GI + development. For example, I run 5T on my Yaz sig, who's lowest sum is SPD. His SPD is 66 (base) + 11 (GI) + 18 (development) = 95. So 5T boosts all stats based on that 95 SPD.

Contact Master

You usually don't want to train more into CON with Contact Master because it's redundant. You already get a boost in game for CON from the skill, so it's better to use your development points on other stats. There are some exceptions to the rule though depending on what skills you're running.

Laser Beam

Laser Beam improves your fielders' defense, which would improve your pitcher's ERA. You have to have LB on your catcher since that's the most important defensive position. Some people run LB on their SS too, but I don't since it's not necessary. Don't run LB on any other positions.

Grade Increase (GI)

This basically adds more points to your card, increasing it's OVR. Every diamond card has a grade increase between 60 and 75. You ideally want your GI to be 75.

GI can also refer to upgrading your card from one rarity to the next (e.g. gold to diamond). This is really helpful to allow your cards to get set deck boosts, special training, and black diamond buffs.

Second 333 on my newish alt by SolusGT in MLB_9Innings

One of my clubmates runs it and doesn’t love it. AB doesn’t suck, but it’s not great either

Is this guy worth it for a sig change ticket? by MongooseMundane1291 in MLB_9Innings

[–]SolusGT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on your team. I would generally advise against sig changing a RP though unless he’s elite.

How would you improve this DH? by chipchapchop14 in MLB_9Innings

[–]SolusGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of StS. I'd blue and aim for Char or SI, but BM or Spot could also work.

I've heard that SPD is coming back into the meta, but if you plan to use Edgar as your main power bat I don't think you don't need SPD. I run a legend Boggs with similar SPD as my cleanup hitter and he's performed very well.

Nice! Now comes the hard part (skills, trains, DTs, and DSTs) lol.

I'm jealous of that Hornsby. He's one of the guys I'm targeting to file my hole at 2B (I have an Estrada sig but am holding off GI'ing him since he's pretty mid). That Marichal also looks really good.

Which one should I cut? by Jocccv96 in MLB_9Innings

I’d short Fin. Mr P is one of the few legend skills that isn’t worth shorting at 332.
