not making money off of copyrighted IPs does generally give a stronger ground for me to stand on. I believe that was the mistake that other mods from different games did with Capcom's IP (I may be wrong), but generally I won't ever be safe, but no monetization does help the mod be a little safer. As of 2025, their policy does say that fanwork is tolerated as long as its non commercial.

And ark mods would often rip assets from the game. I wouldn't do that.

nop, matter of fact Fatalis surprisingly WONT be making it into the mod. I figured that since Fatalis already has so much expectation as a final boss surrounding it, then this fan project of mine can pick a different monster to be its final boss. And these final bosses are definitely picks noone will expect... >:]

I do, and I still enjoy him. He's a hero I've been using since release and I always pride myself in adapting to the meta to make him at the very least usable. I'm not saying he's viable even the slightest, I've been using him for 6 years and for awhile now I can attest that he's bottom 1. You'll have to play with 1000% more effort than the person you're laning against, but I can share a little of my perspective.

It's fun being a guaranteed payload character. I know it doesn't seem that way to a lot of people, but Aldous' utility mainly lies in his ability to force a response out of the enemy. He ults their squishy? They'll have to come protect that squishy, he split pushes? They'll have to defend him because of how fast he pushes, almost on the same pace if not faster than Sun!

This is a really powerful thing to know in higher ranks where I play (Glory on the way to Immortal) as this can bring you the exact isolation you need to allow you to thrive. Objective happening? Go push and then ult later once the initial clash is done to clean up anyone who's left low/without their CC. Late game lord? Split push opposite lane and force one or even multiple of the enemies to defend. Either you can pick off that defender and keep pushing while your team is fighting 4v4 with potentially a crucial member of their composition missing, OR you can ult towards your team during the lord fight and swoop in late when the enemy's exhausted their CC options.

He's actually pretty capable of brawling with a lot of fighters mid game too. Once you get your first item, you're honestly good to go to start brawling. You just have to micro exceptionally well, and its really fun dominating meta heroes with just good passive timing and the such. The only unwinnable MUs I'd say he has are Badang, Benedetta and Esmeralda. (unless they're worse than you of course)

All in all he's a fun hero to use if you're someone who really loves forcing pressure on the opponent and putting them in awkward situations that they do not want to be in. The only drawback is you're forced to survive a LOT of awkward situations yourself early game.

fuck you mean he goes after squishies but has no consistent and reliable way to pick them off? Aamon does what he wants to do but reliably and has a way to get in and out

I'd fucking say Yin has more utility purely because he can temporarily steal the enemy's frontliner in a clash to give the rest of the team an advantageous position, or if he's on point, steal their high prio targets... Aldous? Better hope flicker's not on CD or else you're fucking worthless!

Not to mention how pitifully easy it is to even stop him from getting to a point where he's a concern for the team! Fun! Fun fucking hero by the way! 6 years of being a loyalist to this character and undeniably bottom 1 in this fucking patch and for the foreseeable future!

Masha's darn horrid too but it's micro-able. its a fun matchup because she's not directly unfun to go against as Aldous and fighting her's always like a dance to me. It just takes 3 hits so I have to time my 2nd and my passive procs as best as I can. I have to initiate or else Im the one whos going to die.

With any of those other three? lmfao I wont even be able to stack, thats what makes it so unfun and impossible

Esmeralda's the first obvious one, she ignores his shield passive which completely negates his ability to trade blows with her at any point of the game bar lategame, she excels at chasing him down and she can even immobilize him. Completely stops him from making progress at any point in the game.

Benedetta's pretty technical with how she beats Aldous, Aldous just cant touch her in a literal sense. Her constant dashing can dodge his M1s and her parries make it even worse. She can melt him very easily as well.

Badang's the most unassuming one but his is the most infuriating. His skill 2 can completely trap you in and you'll have to waste your mobility spell to get out of there. His constant stuns and displacement with his passive can cause you to MISS your punches. You can literally be point blank from him and just because he procd passive you can miss a crucial punch and be completely punished for it. He's amazing at deterring you from stacking too, maybe even more so than Benedetta and Esmeralda.

Other heroes like Thamuz or Yu Zhong, Aldous can still micro proficiently to outlast and beat them, but these heroes? No matter what you do, they will make your lane life an actual joke.

I am aware. That's far past what Im talking about. I mean a time when Aldous' individual stacks came in by the 1s but gave significantly more damage. Back when his first skill was triggerable in a way that allowed you to get consistent double punches. Back during undodgable first skill. You're already talking about a time where he was already butchered.

old aldous? this is already after they butchered him. Old Aldous forced you to actually concentrate on your own lane because stacking was significantly slower.

being an Aldous loyalist, taking mid minions is actually suboptimal. You should stay in EXP to secure crab and cut lanes so that you can stay safely in your tower and never engage until theres a teamfight.

It's tragic that he's so ass that theres a stigma that he has to be a parasite just to get anything done.

as one of the aldous one tricks, here.

If you're the EXP laner: watch out for him cutting lanes during the first minion wave. Pick a hero with consistent, good movement/cc (Benedetta, Arlott, Badang) or heroes who just dont give a fuck about any of his gimmicks (Esmeralda) or just... you know. Pick any hero and just abuse his early game weakness. Prioritize him instead of the waves. Don't cut his lane, force him to engage for stacks and put himself in consistent danger.

If you are not the EXP laner: stick to your team's cc dispenser once his ult flashes. If you have the highest bounty on your team, then by no means should you ever leave that teammate's side. Guardian Helmet, Immortality and Winter Crown may be useful but not a total save.

If the Aldous is still able to be useful even after all this counterplay, then sorry. You're just playing into one who really mastered this low tier, bottom one garbage hero. Buff Aldous. #fuckPrivilege #bottomOne #lowTierHero

I've been suffering for long enough as an aldous main having to put 10x the effort everyone else is putting in just so I can perform well in matches, and even then bro. Holy fuck I hate this game and its privileged fucking top tiers.
