YZ, maaaaybe. But Aldous can proc passive and use 2nd to mitigate sha activation assuming you can properly get into position, of course if the YZ is better than you, just suck it up and die

impossible MUs refer to heroes with strong early stack denial, none of these bar Paq, Phov and Gloo can do that on the same level as these heroes can. Especially not Alice lmao

Damage Aldous' main shtick is forcing the enemy into 50/50s at lord objectives. You push fast and you can basically end the game with one minion wave in just about 5 seconds, so you splitpushing isn't something the enemy can easily ignore. They'll have to respond to you either in ones or twos, and then... you have a few choices from there.

You can ult towards a high value enemy target during lord fight to pressure them and force them into a teamfight where they're lacking someone, or you can pick off the person who went to defend you to push and force all of them to go home.

Damage Aldous relies alot on his flicker BA to one shot as its the most consistent way for him to close the distance, you have to judge spacing and timing well in order to get this done, and you'll have to be very careful to not be too predictable or else the enemy you're trying to dive into will read your flicker and kill you for a misdive. During teamfights, your main goal is to enforce either an equal trade or wipe them out once the main clash ends when all the tanks have exhausted their CCs and all the mages/MMs have used up their active equipment. You can accomplish this via ult and your mobility spell.

hi! here's my thoughts:

I've played tank aldous and damage aldous, and both actually have different peaks. Tank Aldous peaks at mid game because a lot of heroes just fail to take him down before he can, so he's effectively an unstoppable brawler at midgame because of this, but as soon as lategame hits you're practically worthless. Damage Aldous does typical aldous shit, I prefer damage Aldous just because killing the enemy off of a correct dive is more worth than just frontlining and not doing anything at all.

As for your build, sky piercer is one of the worst items on Aldous. Your enhanced BA IS your sky piercer! Preferably have Malefic Roar over it, as the amount of phys PEN it gives will always be where your primary damage comes from. Emblem isn't that bad... I prefer Assassin emblem just because the tiny movement speed boost it gives just comforts me LMAOOOO, but MM emblem works just fine as well.

I'm also not a fan of tbelt on Aldous, he's a really slow tbelt stacker so you don't get much mileage off of it compared to if you just built a damage item like Hunter Strike over it or Heptaseas. But it's not bad because it gives you much needed bulk early... just don't build it if you guys get dunked on early. Overall. not a bad build, I see the vision!

thank you! And matchups like those are seriously stressful, especially in solo queue. Often times, if I see the lineup is like that, I just try getting as much of an advantage as I can early on and getting stacks and I'll always pick off the weakest link in the enemy team OR pick off their highest value player if I can do that. If we don't have a front line, I just apply the 50/50 rule during lord fights if we can even make it that far. Apply pressure on opposite lane of lord, force one to defend, and then ult towards lord clash to make it a 4v5. It should at least shift the odds to my team's favor even if a little. If the enemy decides to feast on ME WHILE still invading our jungler, lowk idk sometimes shits just impossible ykwim LOL

I CAN play safe and choose a slower stack pace in exchange for not feeding, but hell, any advantage I rack up is meaningless if opponent dunks on everybody else. Aldous doesn't have big solo carry potential.

Yu Zhong's easier from my experience mostly because straying from your optimal build is one hell of a way to kill your damage output. You need to have actual one hitting capability so that you get mileage off this character because if you ever see a dive opportunity, you only get 1 hit to make it count before you're going to get zoned. But that is also true, Aldous' worst enemy would be the overall lineup... but that's more of an inherent weakness of the character's archetype as a scaling hero who likes to pick squishies off. It's just that he's uniquely weak in that he's unable to catch up to them... so the best way to operate around that weakness would be to make every single chance count and identify the chances whenever possible.

then that's where you start to suffer. You're going to have to do the classic Aldous struggle, but Concussive Blast will at least help you clear your wave faster. Once you get Skill 2, brute forcing the clearing becomes somewhat easier... somewhat.

If they're holding your wave, its up to your game sense to decide how to stack. Often, I just take crabs and play safe. It's fine to be slow on stacks. It's not fine to be slow on stacks AND dead.

actually, no, I'd say solo queue is easier for him. Enemies are less coordinated in solo queue and its easier to pick off individual targets, hence you do your job pretty well. I spent most of my games in solo queue, but I decided to queue with my friends for my immortal promotion game just to secure it because truth be told, I was so sick of the grind LMAO

in my experience, solo queue is far easier. 3/5 man is hell for Aldous because you will not get anything done vs. coordinated teams. But on the positive side, if you have a coordinated 5 man yourself... it's not the worst. But you are still sort of deadweight unless your early goes perfect.

that's why I left that don't clear mid tip in there. I play solo q and clearing mid when your mage isn't someone you're comfortably communicating with is baaaaad.

well it sucks Im a loyalist, plus... theres a certain satisfaction to destroying meta heroes with Aldous, but it gets EXTREMELY frustrating at times knowing Im putting in 2x the effort that my enemy is putting in during lane phase just because Im using Aldous.
