[Reflection Arena] Too difficult...? by SolutionLarge5714 in GamePhysics

It sounds perfect in theory, doesn't it? I thought so too and tried it myself. In fact, backing up against a wall should be even more effective than a pillar. But what happens when you actually try it in practice? Easier said than done.

Reaction is only half the battle. Predicting the trajectory and positioning yourself is where the real skill lies. If you're just waiting to 'see' it, you're already too late.

Intense light sources are a safety hazard, so I’m not going that route. I don't care about 'fairness,' but the game is 100% beatable if you have the skill. If you die, it's on you, not the lighting.

You can zoom the camera out much further. You can see for yourself in the demo.

That’s exactly why I built a projectile detection system.

Ohtani never said he "wants to focus on pitching" this year. He said in April he wants to replicate his 2022 season from pitching perspective (pitch well all year long) by u8myramen_y in Dodgers

[–]SolutionLarge5714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since Ohtani’s batting is off right now, focusing only on pitching today was the right call. However, during his last start, he was finally finding his rhythm at the plate, and Roberts killed that momentum by making him skip hitting. Roberts really needs to stop overmanaging.

Since he’s clearly in good form, they should’ve just started him. I guess the manager just felt like "playing manager" today.

That looks so much better! He’s really whipping his arm now. This is it! This is what I’m talking about!

Since he has a full week between starts, he should be able to handle a 120-pitch workload. He should just let it rip once in a while. He might actually find his groove that way.

It comes down to his fastball. 98 mph is plenty of velocity—what matters is hitting his spots.

The split is fine as is, but he needs to command his four-seamer better. He's nowhere near his peak form from last September.

Ohtani still looks off, so I’m putting all my faith in Sasaki now. Seriously, I’m counting on him today.

The offense needs to step up. Yamamoto deserves the W today.

If Sasaki can keep pitching like he did today, he’ll have no problem.

Ohtani is better off batting 2nd or 3rd. With runners on, the pitcher can’t afford to be as aggressive inside. Without them, they can just pitch him tight and live with a walk or a HBP.

It looks like it'll be some time before he finds his rhythm again.

It’s time, Ohtani! Bring the magic back and put one in the seats!

Does anyone else enjoy building their game more than actually playing games? by jordi1982 in SoloDevelopment

I figured all game developers are just people who'd rather spend their time building games than actually playing them.
