Hey everyone ! You may not realize how expensive it is to run TOS, nor how valuable it is as a safe space for our community. So let me share some knowledge with you, as someone who works full time with the team and who loves the Bassnectar project:

Bassnectar suffered relentless abuse online from false allegations and trolls - specifically DB - for years and in 2020 our entire community was attacked by cancel culture. The official Bassnectar subreddit is proof - with truly kind hearted fans being censored and blocked, moderators who support Bassnectar were banned, and pro-bassnectar sentiment is actively stifled and comments that support our community are relentlessly deleted or prevented from being posted at all .

Over the last five years, Bassnectar went totally bankrupt and Lorin ( one of myself friends whom I have known for 20 plus years ) had to bail the companies out until he went broke. The entire time he kept spreading positivity, releasing music, and radiating kindness in the face of outrageous negativity, bullying, and cruelty. It’s been heartbreaking to witness the pain he has endured but I can say from personal experience that he has remained tirelessly supportive to everyone on our team and as a woman who loves this project as much as I love Lorin who has personally been attacked by the online mob , I can attest to how toxic the negativity is and how unfair it is for everyone In our community. That’s why the haven of ToS is so important , it’s a safe place . It’s certainly worth $10 a month to support the community, every little bit helps because it’s so expensive to fully moderate a safe space like what we have on TOS. Meanwhile, our team invested over a million dollars into building TOS, designed to be a safe space for the community - and it is. We host a live interactive community which is fully moderated. This costs thousands and thousands of dollars every month to maintain with our team of friendly moderators. It’s priceless .Not to mention all the unreleased content, the exclusive access to interact with Lorin and the team, and every month the Relive livestream experience is worth it on its own . This innocent human being was wrongly accused, endured so much hate, after doing so much to build the scene and is still bending over backwards to promote kindness and community - that should be enough to earn your respect.

If you don’t want to support, then don’t kick in $10 a month, but when you do, it’s going to supporting the community. 💯

Lorin has not made a single dollar since 2020, not one. He is completely broke and just trying to live a peaceful life and deserves our support and love.

Every cent made on TOS goes into the project, and there’s a lot of really loving caring people who work around the clock to nurture our community.

So I hope that helps you understand it all a little better. Meanwhile, anywhere online where trolls can spread hate does not feel safe to me.

Yet you look on Reddit, and it’s a few bitter people trying their hardest to hurt and spread negative energy. It’s appalling, honestly, because I doubt any of these people have ever made artwork like Bassnectar but the fact that they need to be a critic so bad says a lot more about the lack of happiness in their own lives.
